Not sure about the LN sales, but it's already gotten the green light for an anime adaptation (not sure how I feel about those...).

Though this isn't a harem (because harem is not part of the plot like Infinite Stratos or High School DxD), there are plenty of girls who like Tatsuya. The story prefers not to focus on girls who like our MC.

What!? This series already got green light for anime adaptation? Well, I suppose 6 web chapters which are equal to 10-12 published books should have enough material to make an anime.

What? Green light for an anime already? This is what I feared of .. the LN barely published but there is an anime adaptation already. For this kind of story I'd rather wait for more books to make 2cours anime than measly 12-13 episodes.

And the animation studio better not mess this up.

Although the story is pretty much already exist from the web novel I doubt they will use something that's not from the published LN.

Well, figures. They'd hate him obviously since Tatsuya pretty much utterly destroy their pride to dust. All they have is only their status as "Bloom" which is pretty much useless against Tatsuya.

It's okay .. It's a good news too if it hasn't been announced. Sooner or later it will get anime adaptation, I believe. Since a lot of LN got animated this past few years and I'd be surprised if it doesn't get one.

They first need to get at least past 5 books of the novel version and not the web version to even make up the anime. I know some anime tends to adapt 1 volume or 1-3 volumes of LN. But usually it takes time before it got green lit. But I'm sure this one will get an animation it's so darn cool that it would be a huge waste to not turn it into.

While we're at this, I'll throw in a summary written by raptorfalcon (all credits go to him. He wrote 98% of this. I just corrected a naming error). I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Spoiler for Crimson Prince vs. Tatsuya:

"Because of all the “accidents” Tatsuya asked Haruka, the school counselor in charge of their class to research where the base of the “No Head Dragon” was. She asked him why and he answered it was just insurance…to calm his mind by knowing where he would need to attack if it became necessary. It hasn’t been said before, but she is actually a “secret agent” from the public safety department working undercover in the school. She has also received Yakumo’s ninjutsu training (much less than Tatsuya). Since Yakumo would reveal her secret identity to Tatsuya, but would not reveal his to her, she more or less understands Tatsuya is above her in the “power/authority chain” to the point that she even served as a carrier for him
Haruka brought Tatsuya 1 coat and 1 mantle that were later found out to have some magic circles in the fabric to boost the magician’s ability. The student council wasn’t sure they were legal in a match, but he had again used loopholes in the rules. Mayumi was really worried about Tatsuya’s wellbeing and explained to him that he had already fulfilled his duty. By advancing to the semifinals, he had already gathered enough points as a whole for the school to win the points in the “new comer” division. He really didn’t intend to win at this point, he just wanted it to finish without getting injured so that his “self-healing” ability wouldn’t trigger in front of a crowd. However, as he was leaving Miyuki approached him and told him that even though she knew he couldn’t use most of his power in the match, and even though she knows she is part of the reason why he can’t use his power (no details given as to how exactly she limits his power), she still believes he will win. After that, losing was no longer an option for Tatsuya.

And so... on the day of the match, Leo and Mikihiko showed up on the stage wearing one of the clothes each. While most of the crowd was interested in how the clothes worked, Erika was just laughing her ass off. After calming down, Mitsuki told her that she wasn’t sure how the clothes worked, but a lot of “spirits” where gathering round Mikihiko. By the way I should mention that Mitsuki has been little by little gathering the courage to remove her glasses (good for her… not so much for Tatsuya). As soon as the match started, the crowd went , “OHHH!”. The reason was that even though both team bases were hundreds of meters apart and normally only reachable with a long range type CAD, Tatsuya and Masaki were already attacking each other accurately. Masaki kept using his “explosion” magic modified with the “cylinder” magic I explained previously. Tatsuya had 1 gun CAD with the “magic demolition” spell and the other had a vibration spell. From the very beginning, Tatsuya’s goal was to get in Masaki’s close range so he kept advancing towards him while destroying Masaki’s explosions before they even happened. Cardinal noticed the magic on the 2nd gun was different and was really surprised Tatsuya had been able to change the magic+tune a CAD within such a short time. A lot of important people had come to see this match specifically because of Tatsuya’s magic. Magicians can see psions and to them the spectacle that takes place every time Tatsuya blew away Masaki’s spell was like a fireworks show. On top of that, it’s very difficult to see this magic in action since most magicians can’t use that magic at all, and even those who can are limited to 1 shot a day. To see a high school student use it continuously was very surprising. Among those that went to see the show was Kudo, the advisor of the country’s magic defense department. He used to be considered one of the top magicians in the world when he was in active duty (now an old man but still holds great respect+power). As Tatsuya got closer to Masaki, it became more difficult to predict and cancel the magics before they activated, so Tasuya had to start using his body to dodge them as well. While that was going on, Cardinal had gotten close to school 1’s base and was in battle with Mikihiko and Leo. Cardinal managed to land his spell on Mikihiko and he fell to the ground as if someone was pressing his chest against the floor. Just as Leo was about to land his attack on Cardinal, he suddenly went flying and got knocked unconscious thanks to Masaki’s intervention. However, that small distraction was used by Tatsuya to finally close the gap with Masaki and get into close combat. At that moment, Masaki felt immense fear; like his instinct was telling him the person in front of him was too dangerous. In the middle of his panic Masaki released 16 attacks with each having more power than the rules allowed. It was explained at this point that depending on the magician, each spell has a level of “strength” and that in order to blast away even 1 of Masaki’s spells required more energy than most magicians could gather in an entire day. Even then, Tatsuya stuck to his word of not using his “disintegration” magic and managed to blow away 14 of them. Just after firing the spells, Masaki had noticed he had used too much power and when the 2 shots hit Tatsuya he knew he would be disqualified for over attacking. However, in that fraction of a second while he was thinking about that, Tatsuya’s regeneration kicked in and brought his conscience back (he had received enough damage to break few bones and bleed severely) Before Tatsuya even noticed he had been knocked out, he was already conscious and healed while Masaki was still a bit shocked from using too much power. Tatsuya took advantage of that, got close to him and launched a punch which Masaki instinctively dodged. As soon as his hand was near Masaki’s ear, he flicked his fingers and a big BOOOMMM was heard in the stadium. Masaki fell to the floor unconscious and Tatsuya fell to his knees."

100% written by raptorfalcon. It was done well enough that if I wrote another one, it would be a waste of energy and.... the quality of mines would at best be the same. I guess I need to mention that there were 3 other Monolith Code rounds that Tatsuya swept through before meeting the Crimson Prince and Cardinal George. I kind of skipped right to the Finals.

At 9 o'clock the night before the before the Monolith Code Competition, he gathers Mikihiko and Leo to discuss their plan. Whereas most other people had time to organize their CADs and strategy, Tatsuya and his crew didn't even have their combat uniforms prepared.

First thing's first, Tatsuya explains the rules of the competition. There are two ways to win- knock all your opponent's unconscious or read their code. After the explanation, Tatsuya decided that the battle formation would be Leo-defense, Tatsuya-offense, and Mikihiko-support/covert.

Since this tournament doesn't allow physical contact and only magic, this is highly disadvantageous towards Leo who specializes in physical close quarter combat. In order to bend the rules, Tatsuya gives him a disconnected "magic sword". The sword operates like any normal sword except the the middle of the sword is disconnected with magic holding it together. Since the attacking point of the weapon is no longer "connected" and thereby floated through magic, it's a usable weapon. Leo's job were to A) prevent opponents from entering 10 meters of the monolith B) protect the monolith from cracking and C) if the monolith cracks, protect the code at all cost.

Next is Mikihiko. The normally drowsy dude is now fully pumped. First, Mikihiko wonders how he's going to have a role in this competition since his ancient magic that relies on incantations is considerably slower and thereby "ineffective" against modern magic. Tatsuya says that he will rewrite his CAD, eliminate all redundant and extraneous magics, and improve his efficiency. Not only that, Tatsuya says that Mikihiko's role in this formation is to act as a covert unit who specializes in stealth and support. He explains that ancient magic may be slower, but when completed, the magic is more subtle (i.e. good for stealth) and more powerful than modern magic. In sum, Mikihiko is best served in a stealth role where he's not competing against other modern magicians in speed (which he would definitely lose). Tatsuya also says that he'll be using Mikihiko's special eyes (which I'm not going to bother to understand).

After the pep talk, he went to work. He spent one hour on Leo's sword to customize it so that everything fits Leo's body, stats, etc. After that, Leo went and practiced with Erika in order to get a feel of the CAD. While I'm at this, I should note that Leo's customization was done in a mere 1 hour while most experts need at least 3 hours.

Next, Tatsuya went to operate on Mikihiko's CAD. Asuza, who is part of the Student Council and the 2nd best CAD technician in School One, was utterly stunned by what she saw. Tatsuya completely scrapped everything in Mikihiko's old CAD and completely rewrote the whole thing. In short, Tatsuya was not adjusting, but rather creating a whole new CAD on the spot. To make it even more amazing, Tatsuya was translating between ancient magic scripts and modern magic on the spot (it's like translating Japanese between German non-stop). He was done in one hour. After witnessing this, Asuza was convinced that Tatsuya was Silver Taurus (she's correct)- the CAD scientist who pushed modern magic science ahead by TEN YEARS.

After the preparations? It's time to RUUUUMMMMBBBBLLLEEEE.

LONG Side Note: The reason why specialized CADs are generally superior to general CADs is because CADs need to customized to fit a person's physiology, magic quantity, mental health, and physical abilities. This is why they say when someone allows another person to work with your CAD, you're allowing the technician "to see your inner self". It's also part of the reason why the 1st year girls were hesitant at first with Tatsuya handing their CADs, but they didn't object after Shizuku, Miyuki, and Honoka gave Tatsuya the green light. Later on, they were even proactive in wanting Tatsuya analyze them.

Part of the reason why Tatsuya's girls were so dominant was that he combined their CADs with their battle strategy. In other words, there is a direct relation between the customization of a certain CAD and the strategy in that event. Normal technicians just merely focused on getting a good CAD.

For example, Tatsuya customized Honoka's CAD in the Battle Board to maximize her inherent talent in light magic. In a racing event that focuses "acceleration" magic, Honoka's magic is considered a misfit. Yet Tatsuya told her to use magic on the water and therefore indirectly interfere with all the other contestants. In the Speed Shooting, which is an event that tests accuracy and speed, Tatsuya gave Shizuku a never-before seen state of the art CAD that combines the strengths of a general CAD (multiple magic/broad range) with customized CAD (accuracy system). This invention is being sent into the Index/Archives (under Shizuku's name due to Tatsuya's low profile goal).

EDIT: I decided to mention two more characters who will be important in the 9 School Tournament Arc

Spoiler for Crimson Prince and Cardinal George:

In a normal year, the Crimson Prince and Cardinal George would be the undisputed best for all of first year. It's actually considered extremely coincidental that these two elites ended up in School Three. The Crimson Prince is the next head of the "One" family. He earned the nickname Crimson Prince at the age of 13 for his frontline military experience. Back then, he joined his father- the head of the "One" family- on the frontlines and had major military accomplishments. Part of the reason I consider him at least on par if not greater than the Big 3 of School One (all third years) is because of A) his frontline experience and B) his special ability- Explosion, which is a A Class Killing Magic. This ability is so deadly that it vaporizes and explodes any H2O based entity (including humans which in case you don't realize is composed of water). Kazuma, who is Tatsuya's military superior, says that the Crimson Prince is a Combat level Magician. In effect, you can leave him alone in a strategic spot and he'll defend it against a platoon. If you stop here, his abilities are tailor made for military combat and is superior to just about anyone other than Tatsuya who has A) more frontline experience and B) an even broader degeneration ability that decomposes all organic and non-organic materials including metal and C) is able to destroy a whole army. Even so, I should note that Tatsuya is technically at a disadvantage Masaki in this specific competition because his two upper level magics (the killing version of Degeneration and the large scale Material Burst) are military secrets and off limits. Likewise, Masaki's Explosion is off limits directly against other contestants. That said, there is nothing preventing him from summoning a tube and exploding the water inside, which will generate a shock wave strong enough to knock out 3 contestants, which is exactly what he did.

Cardinal George in a normal year, would be considered an extremely rare genius. He actually found a special code in magic manipulation at the age of 12. This allows him to extremely meticulous and subtle in magic manipulation (he won the Speed Shooting event that tests accuracy+speed). That said, even Cardinal George bowed down to Tatsuya's intellectual superiority when he saw Tatsuya's handy work. After the Speed Shooting contest for the girls, he noted that the girls at School One weren't necessary more talented. Rather, the difference lies in the specs of the CAD. According to him, there was a 2 to 3 generation gap in the spec levels. Of course, Cardinal George was correct as every event Tatsuya had a hand in, School One won.

Finally, Masaki is absolutely infatuated with Miyuki.
