In my opinion, the soundtracks are from Mai-HiME and Mai-Otome by Yuki Kajiura. This woman is a genious I tell you! ^_^

If Yuki Kajiura did the music for an anime, any anime, that anime has the best soundtrack.

'nuff said.

True that! I have actually yet to watch other anime with Yuki Kajiura composing but I have heard some of her soundtracks from Tsubasa Chronicles and they're awesome too! ^_^

Her works are comparable to that of Claudio Simonetti, who worked with Dario Argento for most of his horror films.

It's actually kind of interesting to see how much Kajiura's evolved. I think Noir's soundtrack shows Kajiura's early efforts which were... well... lacking in experience. She's grown tremendously as a composer since then and when you compare her Noir form to her current form, the amount of improvement she shows is extremely noticeable. Goes to show how much experience plays into ability to compose good music.

Simply put, she's the Claudio Simonetti of anime soundtrack composers! ^_^

I truly admire her works and wishes that she would make film soundtracks besides anime soundtracks. It would be awesome, I tell you! ^_^

Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny have amazing soundtracks. I'm also quite fond of some of Toradora! as well as Kanon 2006.

Macross Frontier, I guess. Record of Lodoss War series has some neat medieval feel as well.

GS and GSD had pretty good soundtracks. Code Geass was mostly forgettable to me. I don't remember hardly any of the music except for a few of the OP/EDs (which I didn't care for much either).

Besides, I should amend my previous statement.

If Yuki Kajiura or Yoko Kanno composed the soundtrack, that anime has the best soundtrack.

Cowboy Bebop and Darker Than Black had epic soundtracks.

I found that K-ON! have pretty good music library except a few exceptions (like the K-ON! OST, which is mediore/not great and a few songs of the library of albums.)
