Well, I knew someday they were going to start looking like Digimon, heck don't we already have Mega-pokemon with Electivire, Magmortar and those other evolutions that were added in gen 4? I don't mind this too much as I was already thinking that the only thing they had left was to either reveal what I called Hyper evolutions (which here they call Mega) or go with Black 2 and White 2 combining pokemon mechanic.


What really pisses me off is the freaking fairy type, since when do fairies kill dragons? had it been called Light type I would have been fine with it but now I'm going to have to make plans to massacre this new fluffy, moe-like pokemon that where completely unnecessary, i'm not even going to catch one of them all throughout the game, good thing I don't play to complete the pokedex.

p.s. Don't even get me started with the whole nintendogs like mechanic i'll never finish this post.

I think it's the whole create vs. destroy motif, also, you underestimate the power of moé in Japan.

I love japan but moé is one of the worst things to come from there in my opinion, seriously just look at the line up of anime this summer season, I almost puked when I saw all of those bright colors and cuter girls doing cute things anime on the list. I'm not saying it's a bad thing it's just that japan goes overboard with moé and try putting it in every. single. thing. not everything needs moé to be successful. Also I will never accept the fairy type, it just comes off as an excuse to shove moé down our throat's at least imo. Still getting the game though, but you can bet i'm going to make it my goal to make my dragon type pokemon so strong that weakness won't be an issue, if I could make my water type beginnier (whenever I chose one at the beginning) to be able to destroy dragons in one hit (with just Ice Beam) then I can make this happen.

I officially declare war on the fairy type.

... ummm... okay. I love the new Fairy Type and even though I don't personally see the purpose of certain other types, I don't really care enough to "declare war" against them. I'm looking forward to new Fairy Type Pokemon announcements, I can see a lot of Normal Type Pokemon being reclassified into the Fairy Type. :3

What sucks is that Torchic with a speed boost ability will be available for download for a select time, thus making the fire starter worthless imo. Still considering getting a 3DS for this game.

I wonder if and by how much will these "Mega Evolutions" change a pokemon's stats?

I think they would change the name of Mega evolution into something for English. Overall it does feel like Digimon, but I think it could be interesting game mechanic. At least Gamefreak is trying to change lot in this game.

OT: I really think that this 'Mega Evolution' thing is going to be a pretty dam cool thing. I just hope it is not exclusive for only 6 to 10 Pokemons.

I kinda like the Mega Evolutions. Especially since it gives some of the older Pokemons like Mawile and Ampharos that much needed love and attention. Also:

1. I've learned from Serebii.net site that MegaEvolutions only happen in battle. Is this true, or megaevolution effects are permanent?

2. Does this generation introduces any brand-new type of Pokemon outside of the other previous 17?
