I like Yamada more than Cruz. He became more assertive, confident and takes everything head when he became Yamada unlike when he was Cruz who is always asking help from the others.

I wouldn't mind Yamada if Yamada stayed as Cruz in girl's clothing (this is one of the few manga where I actually didn't mind the crossdressing). But now Yamada is definitely a girl, and one of the things I hate in manga is genderbending.

Looks like just about every loose end is wrapped up (where are Setsuna and Kuchinashi???) and it appears to finally wrap up the issue of Eve/Karin and in relation to Blade and how they become ANn. Nice to see the added touch with Blade appearing in his own memories above Cruz, Blade and Saten though I'm not sure exactly why or what's going on there (or why ANn appeared there in the first place and was able to help Cruz).

Really love the spreads, especially the color one at the beginning and the last one with everyone together.

Should be interesting to see what happens next and when it happens because I'm ready for Part 2 to start up anytime now!

So in the end the most obvious scenario (to us here) was how it was, after all. Cunning of you, Imai Kami. It was a bit of a twist that Blade was originally someone else, too. A shame it wasn't a longer chapter, but now we have the perfect setup for Needless 2, and maybe we'll finally get some of those nagging questions answered.

It is kind of interesting how Blade was there for Yamada in Adam N. form the whole time, or rather Yamada saw him in the memory world as her, and possibly at other times, to make this exact ending possible. Blade/N also only appeared to him, I guess, because to appear to Saten would be a bad idea. I expect there's more to this than is obvious at a glance, but we'll have to wait to see.

Edit: Thanks for the translation, js06. It's interesting that Eve is 'sleeping' in Blade, which might explain that snippet from Needless 2 we've all had in our minds. It's not impossible that she'll re-emerge later.

I suspect Gido and Kasumi will be important in part two. I still find it odd how quickly Kasumi was shown and removed. Her whole existence is an enigma. Notice that Gido was rushing to the gate with just Eve's head...how was he going to fix Kasumi without her going with him?

Ditto with Setsuna and the other Killer Girls. No explanation of their fate. It's sort of implied they were cured, but it's odd they aren't given any time.

This Ann is way different from Needless Zero. This is a big retcon. Not that I mind it.

Like Nvis said, this explains Ann appearing to Cruz. It does not explain what Mio saw at the Simeon building, or why Mio believes he is protected by an angel.

A shame we don't get a loli-Arca to follow Cruz around now. That would have been adorable and fitting. Arca deserved a new lease on life.

No explanation of 666 or Ishiyama. Seems a bit odd to have them gone from the story so quickly.

The last page shows that the bombs weren't successful in killing all of the normal humans. The city still exists. Blade's wish, as I suspected, was more than just his loli whims being realized.

Interesting bit of history between Eve and Blade.

We now have a time loop, of sorts. Cruz must do what he does, so that this ending happens. This does not explain what makes him special though, and I still find the Memory Arc odd in how it ties the three of them together so well. As some of us have noted, the resemblance between Cruz, Eve, and Kasumi is just too strange for coincidence.

Overall, a nice way to end the first part of the story. Hope the second starts soon!

An absolutely outstanding chapter. An incredible way to end this first part.

But let me try to get things straight here...

So with Saten's mental attack on Blade, he was unable to do anything... but because Eve was absorbed into his body, there was a breakdown between having their two minds in the same body, which is what allowed Blade to learn The Sixth Wave and shatter the illusion.

And because the two minds were together, was that why we were able to see Eve's past as Karin? I'm still kinda curious about how Blade's body went from Onda to young Blade to adult Blade with all those mechanical and metal parts inside of him.

I do like the part where Blade/Eve go back to the past and appear before Cruz to give him the light to go through the darkness. Fascinating to see that it was ANn's form that Cruz saw there rather than Blade but I suppose could have combined their form in that memory before talking to Cruz. And now with that part explained, now it makes sense why ANn was able to appear in the past (not just a memory) and give Cruz that special ability, since it was the Almighty all along. So yeah, that Eve's Story was really quite fascinating in how it connected just about everything together.

And I do like the touch that Eve is still alive and residing within Blade who is now ANn. I guess since Eve gave back Doppelganger to Blade, her body wouldn't survive anymore, but her mind and soul could take refuge in Blade. It's a beautiful way to keep the two together, especially after seeing the memory of them together as Karin and Onda.

So yeah, really, the only question I have left is: Where are Setsuna and Kuchinashi????????

We didn't get any more information about what was particularly noteworthy about Cruz's eyes during his first overt use of his power. Maybe it was just tied to the awakening of a fragment, and Arclight was surprised he had one after all, or that it was in particular a Stigmata level ability? We'll probably never find out now.

Also in the realm of probably impossible to know, what Riru was going to say before being interrupted.

And that name drop of Mizuha or whatever that found the blueprint of God in the box and went on to found the Resistance.

How is Ishiyama and the 666 going to take this news? Was this possibly their plan all along!?

We'll just have to hope for Needless 2 to clear some of this up.

As for the hand, it might not have been Adam N. as we'd all thought. Perhaps Needless has some kind of 'continuum enforcer' besides Blade's one documented use of his power to break into the flow of time. Or maybe he just used that multiple times while he was still in Saten's time distortion.

I don't loathe all of it, when it's done right, it can work, for example, ranma 1/2, he can change back into a guy whenever splashed with hot water, he just changes when he's splashed with cold water.
