If you're talked about FMA 1st original VS Reboot, that should be a great idea to me.

Thank you, that would be an awful idea. It always turns into a vicious debate whenever it comes up.

However the final character poll would be nice.

I have a question. why is almost everything in the FMA section about brotherhood?
the first anime of FMA was amazing..like an anime classic...

It might have something to do with the fact that the first FMA anime is from 2003 whereas Brotherhood finished only a few months ago.

ah I see, ok.
It does bother me that some people seem to forget about the first one though. .-.
I don't want to get into any debate or anything, but the first one is so much better to me. They take every single thing I love about anime and roll it into something absolutely amazing.

Yeah a lot of the first FMA series stuff is kinda stuffed in the back of the sub-forum only cuz there was a good couple of years btwn the ending of that anime and the beginning of Brotherhood. There are lots of threads still open tho

I'm unsure where to post this, since there's no Arakawa thread and I think FMA fans will be interested the most in her new series.

So could we get a thread for the author or the new series? There's a similar solution over at the "School Rumble" sub-forum with a Kobayashi thread. Or should I just go to the general manga discussions?

The News of Arakawa's new, weekly series:
"Silver Spoon"
... starts in April.

A new thread about Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos would be nice? Or should we just leave that to the Discussion thread?

Challenge Thread: Best Way to Watch Fullmetal

I think this is an important question that deserves feedback on the board. But of course, I would, since I'm asking. =)

I'm a college professor, advisor to a brand-new anime club, and we wanted to watch Fullmetal Alchemist this semester. But we're wondering: is there a Perfect Remix of Fullmetal that can be made up of both serieses? That is: some of the original episodes carry the same storyline but are just better animated (e.g., Rose and old priest with the fake philosopher's stone... handled so much better in the original FMA), while obviously the story arc of "Brotherhood" eventually takes off and overshadows the first.

If we wanted to switch back and forth, watching only the best versions of each episode until Brotherhood prevails entirely - well, has anyone done this successfully and wants to share what they feel the best episodes ought to be? I would be excited to hear everyone's thoughts!

Thanks!

This should have been posted in Q&A but this sub forum is kinda dead so Ill just answer here.

I really wouldnt recommend switching back and forth. Id watch Brotherhood all the way. 1st series is only canon up to like epi 30 something, where as Brotherhood is pretty darn good at following the manga. Yeah it added a few weird things ie HulkPriest, moved some stuff around and left out some stuff but that happpens with every adaptation.

The only thing I could see wtaching series 1 for would be more Trisha, she was shown much more in the beginning of the seried 1, tho Brotherhood stayed true to the manga with her and I remember this upsetting some fans. Thats the only thing I could think off but Id still just watch Brotherhood
