Wonder who will take over in behalf of Tomoko Kawakami and Eri Kawaii.

Also, BEST MARTIANS. Jojh and the smug assholes from Aldnoah.Zero are no match for Undines.

This is undreamed of. I can't believe this is real. I have no words to describe how this news makes me feel.

I guess it'll cover the chapters that weren't animated or that it'll just be an original side-story, but the title "avvenire" screams sequel.

While they were at it, if they could release a blu-ray box set of the series, it'd be wonderful. Edit: I just saw the full announcement, they WILL release a blu-ray box!

That's why I think they'll just bundle a new OVA with BOX-set. But let's hope for more

Are you kidding me?! That's awesome!

I would find interesting see what kind of apprentices Aika and Alice might have... but even if it was some random OVA, it would still be great news for me.

For real? OMG I hope it's another tv series, though an OVA would be just fine. I was re-reading the whole series yesterday and never thought this title would pop up in the anime news ever again!

I finally get to use the old phrase.

What sorcery is this?!

I would love to see even an OVA, but a series would be an unheard of consolation...ears pricked up in complete attention here! ^^

Hopefully Amano will be involved (I was expecting an anime based off her ongoing manga someday to be honest), and I must admit I'd love to see the apprenticeship of Ai under an older Akari.

Mag Garden briefly, prematurely launched a site laying plans for the 10th anniversary of the anime adaptation of Kozue Amano's healing sci-fi series Aria. Director Jun'ichi Satō and writer Reiko Yoshida will be returning for a new Aria the Avvenire anime, set to be screened at a September 26th event. A Blu-ray set of all the TV series is also planned.

OMG!
Even if this does turn out to be just an OVA, it's still going to be a glorious day to have more ARIA, and if it's a series that'll be just marvellous.
Wow...

It's real? This is actually happening?!?!

Whatever it turns out to be, an ova, or short ova series, or an actual tv series it will definitely be a very swell time for more Aria.

I was almost sure that this was going to be an Aria The Scarlet Ammo sequel when I saw the thread title. Curse me for not having enough faith in humanity.

Eagerly looking forward to it.

Compared to Jojo, Parasyte and Ushio to Tora which being animated today (or will be in Ushio's case), I wouldn't call Aria an oldschool manga/series .

Anyway, new animated Undines are always welcome. Oh, and the cats too, always like them .

True, its not 19's work but early 20's but really. On that time. There isn't much otaku boon here on my country. I can't even remember the word tsundere or moe being uttered on that time.

well this is really welcome comeback. I would like to see this in high-res blu-ray.

IS THIS THE REAL LIFE

Is this really happening?!?! This isn't a dream isn't it?!

Though as happy as I am about the prospect of another Aria anime, not having Tomoko Kawakami and Eri Kawai on board to voice Athena is going to feel so strange. ;-;

Still, I await our return to Neo Venezia, even if only briefly.

OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG!

I'm so insanely HYPED right now! Running the risk of blatantly copying someone else in this thread: what sorcery is this?

I did NOT expect this one. Heck, I might even go crazy and save up to import this. (I did import the US release since there's no EU one).

Nice timing though, I've been rewatching the series just recently and am currently close to the end of "The Animation".

So I'm guessing, given the visual we have, that it's going to be set in the middle of the show instead of after the time skip scene at the end of the show. I was crossing my fingers for a continuation with Ai-chan as the main character

I sat straight up and gasped a little, almost jumped lol.

I saw Avvenire and I assumed it was related to the Aria Avvenire artbook I saw at Anime Expo last year, but even if it's a new re-adaptation, this is great news. One of my favorite series ever.

Edit: I hope Avvenire (Arrival) means it's about Ai's arrival to Mars, which was covered in Ch. 3 'Starting Off' in the guidebook.
