Looking for good and current series...

Hey all.

Now, I'm a fairly big anime dork, but while at uni I've fallen behind on the current new series for the fall and winter seasons. Really, right now the only thing I'm following faithfully is Gintama, which I've adored for ages. Beyond that, I haven't watched anything new since September, which means that I really need help!

So, in quick, which of the currently running, and fansubbed, series should I be giving a nod to? Taste doesn't have much to do with it, since I'm very random in that regard (seriously, some of my favorite series are Gundam Wing, MaLoki, Saiyuki, Gokusen and Whistle!). I'll watch anything, really, but I'd like to know what I should be using my bandwith on beforehand.

Thanks!

The best currently running (fansubbed) shows that are worth spending bandwith on:

Nana: Truly awesome show about two girls named Nana with the same birthday. Despite those similarities, everything else about them is different. It is about music and relationships. Don't watch it if you are afraid to cry.

Tale of Saiunkoku: This show takes place in a mythical land which resembles ancient China. The main character is a woman with an unusual interst in politics and learning. Mostly this is a show about palace intrigue though it is spiced with a bit of fighting and romance.

Bokura Ga Ita: I haven't seen high school romance done this well since KareKano. It is arguably even better since there aren't any recap episodes.

Asatte no Houkou: A young girl magically becomes an adult. A grown woman magically becomes a young girl. These two girls now have to cooperate to overcome their personal issues and understand how to deal with their new situations.

Chevalier: Based on the historical personage of the chevalier D'Eon, this story postulates an 18th century France where magic is real and magicians are attempting to take over Europe. It is an MFI production so we can't give links to the fansubs here, but you'll find them if you try.

Code Geass: In an alternate world giant robots are used to fight wars. The Britannia Empire has conquered Japan and two men are trying to set things right. One only cares about his end goal while the other only cares about the methods used. Despite their comonality of purpose, this division has made them enemies.

Death Note: This is a battle of wits... to the death. It is an intense and very intellectually stimulating show about morality and manipulation.

Kanon: KyoAni's latest masterpiece is this remake of the classic Kanon. It is a beautiful tale of questing for identity and love.

Negima?! This remake of Mahou Sensei Negima has very little in common with the original show. It is wacky, off the wall and very funny and very emotional. Don't watch it if you are afraid of experimental anime, but if you can put your expectations aside, then you might love it.

Red Garden: 4 ordinary girls each with their own problems and relationships find themselves enmeshed in a mysterious struggle of life and death. They must learn about this world if they want to survive.

Sumomo mo momo mo: Martial arts romatic comedy. The fanservice goes way over the line in this show, but so does the humor.

That should be enough to sate your appetite. I think I've said enough about each show to let you figure out which to watch first.
