i would point out that China made claims to the SEA in the 1930s and again in the 1950s. No one call those claims into question till gas and oil enter into the picture.

Could also use the British when they colonised Australia. Basically the British saw the Aborigines as savages and while there was some token trade deals, much of the land (and the people themselves) were claimed by the colonists for their own purposes. For a particularly brutal take look up the colonisation of Tasmania, the local population was wiped out completely. Some 7000 natives killed off over nearly 30 years.

There has been some movement towards returning land to the local tribes, but its quite the battle and many of the claims are in or boarder urbanised areas now so there is a fair amount of friction.

Couple months old, but just got linked it today. She's adorable. Can't quite decide if she's like one of those Rozen Maiden dolls or shaping up to be one of those miniature kung-fu master types - although she'd need a cane to pogo around on for that. Have to say I'm kind of amazed at how well proportioned she has stayed, a lot of folks with extreme growth conditions aren't as lucky - also die real young.

Besides, you can also soak cotton wool in it, and fry it in oil until crispy. Also treats asthma.

Other than antler horn and that, there is also the bear's gall bladder which is used to treat heart ailments. Supposedly the bear is K.O-ed and had its gall bladder removed, but without its gall bladder it becomes a sissy and eventually falls prey to other predators.

Also there is the monkey brain soup, bull testicles (I think it is a Mongol or Manchu tradition that it increases fertility, so we can blame the Koreans/Mongolians for passing it down). But the simplest yet disgusting dish is a common staple in most meals - pig's liver and sliced intestines with bok choy (Chinese cabbage); fry it with shallot/shrimps and you get a complete "set" meal of plant/meat + something from the seas.

The thing about chinese medicine is they're rather primitive ('natural') when it comes to medicine, instead of western medicine where we just synthesize a butt-load of some specific compound/amino acid so that we don't have to consume the real thing that would hold it. I'm sure placenta has some specific chemical that does cure diseases. But ew wtf @___@

A lot of the 'ewwww that's sick' is just choice of wording tbh. You can choose to use the ugliest word for everything product we use on a daily basis and it'll sound disgusting.

Like "injecting your face with diseased poisonous food" to annihilate tissue in your face so you look like a robot or as doctors call it 'younger'.

I had to drink urine when I was like 3-ish (thank god I don't really remember it) to cure chronic internal bleeding issues that I had. Not sure if it worked but I haven't suffered since.
