Any word on a new op/ed?

Don't get me wrong, I love Grain and For the Love of Life, but with the start of what I'm hearing is supposed to be a big arc, with new major characters, shouldn't the opening be updated to reflect this, potentially with a new (equally good) song? I was expecting something after the Monster extra 01, but nothing. Then again at episode 27, but nothing.

I don't think they'd use the same thing for the whole series, so is there any word of something in the works for an upcoming episode?

The only semi-recent music news for Monster is a remix album of several OST tracks. No word on any completely new music. I would be a bit surprised if they used the same ones for all 70+ episodes, but then again, Monster isn't one of those ultra-marketable shows where they can expect to rake in the dough by introducing some new catchy jingle every 13 or 26 episodes.

They might introduce something new in the mid-40s, considering some of the story elements that should be introduced around that point. Also, at the current rate, they're going to run out of pictures for the ending at around that point, and will have to come up with something else to replace it. On the other hand, the current opening contains some shots and themes that won't appear in the anime until near the very end, so they might keep it and just change a few shots.

Monster OST question

Okay, can anyone put an answer to this conundrum of mine?

I recently shared some of the Monster soundtrack with a German friend of mine. I showed her 'Nacht Tour', assuming the growly vocals were in German...only for her to say they must be English, even though she couldn't make out a word. They definitely don't sound Japanese...so can anyone tell what the language is (if any), and what those lyrics are?

Thanks!

Uh, I can't make out any clear words either, but the language sounds more like English. From the way the guy's rolling the r's and such. Maybe it's just gibberish.

Speaking of music, what do people think of the remix album that came out recently?

Episode 33 unveils a brand new ending theme.
It's called Make It Home, by Fujiko Heming.

It features tastefully done strings, acoustic guitar and light percussion, along with some singing. Like Sylvian's piece, it's sparse, but this one is clearly more bright and uplifting, although I wouldn't necessarily describe exactly that way on its own. It also doesn't give me the same lack-of-closure aftertaste that For the Love of Life did, although it does end with a fade out.

There's also a new permutation of the closing animation.

OMG! I... got a bunch of CDs of Ms. Hemming. I didn't know she does anime soundtracks now. But come to think of it, Monster would be the most suited one to her background. Quite fitting I must say. She just does the piano, by the way.

For those who don't know her: She's quite a superstar in Japan, all her concerts are sold out half an hour after they have been announced. Born in Berlin, her mother is Japanese and her father Russian-Swedish; her story has touched many... went through the Cold War stateless, got rejected by Japan back then for her heritage, eventually aquired Swedish citizenship. Now lives mainly in Tokyo and is a hotshot pianist with a more-passionate-than-precise playing and is a samaritan for animals. Details here.

Haha, well said. I suppose the new ED might grow on me, but as of now I can't help but think that it kind of, you know, sucks. Particularly in comparison to the first ED.

Wow, I think that was the first time I heard Ms. Hemming sing... I think the ending's alright. Unfortunately the sound quality wasn't the best.
Apparently a German orchestar is playing the music, at least I read Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen in the credits.

Take down those links before you get punished, Nivikran. It's against the rules to post direct downloads on AnimeSuki.

Music in Episode 18...

Okay, in Episode 18: The Fifth Spoonful of Sugar, there is a scene where Nina is balancing plates and a sweet melody begins to play. Does anyone know the name of that song?

I recently noticed one of ambient piece that frequency used
is similar to Brian Eno's classic ambient "Discreet Music" (1975).

How many monster soundtracks were released?

I know that was one, are there any more after the first was released?

I got in possession of "Monster OST 1" and I am really enjoying it, My hint is that there are at least 2 OSTs, as I don't see there the second ending theme nor some other background tunes that were used in later stages of the show.

BTW, "Monster OST 1" is great. very deep, very magikal, very personal.
