Well, SnS's LN "Shokugeki no Soma a la carte" as far as I know has some "moments" of Ryouko and Smoke, so I wouldn't be surprised if we just get romantical hints in the manga and all of it gets developed in the LN.

Were quickly attracted to him, Erina being the exception and having a long time infatuation for souma's dad.

that being said I support a non-romance for this series, teases are fine though.

It is pretty impressive how all the guys in the manga never once seemed to have given a glance over Nikumi's assets. At least I can't remember a single guy looking/staring at them once and be like "daaaaamn, she cooks in that outfit?". xD

Which is highly unlikely to not happen at some point due to his father having said those words at the beginning, then having had Hayama win because of that same thing, if the manga itself throwd the possibility of shipping at the viewers you can't blame them, unless they go out of control and do stupid stuff.

Those words at the beginning have had no real impact so far. It'll prolly come into effect, but definitely not anytime soon.

Hayama didn't really win because of love- they explained it fairly well in the chapter that its because of his speciality. The thing with Jun was more of a motivator type thing as he wanted to try hard for his adoptive mother.

Even Soma's dad's words at the end of the arc were about improving oneself through competition and meeting ppl and learning, more than about feelings or anything.

I remember Souma vs Alice 's obento battle. I cant remember the details but one of the reason why Souma won was because he had good memory with it with the person he cooked for at that time.
I think it also a kind of love/motivation but still not as strong as Hayama's ~ ?

Souma won not because of that but because Alice just packed fish together and called it a day she didnt grasp the concept of a bento. Soma remembered it because of an old lady in the neighborhood but thats different. Alice's dish was better but Soma actually had the concept.

This. Souma's only "specialty," if he can be said to have one, is that his father's trained him to be extremely creative. He can take what he knows and synthesize something new from it with surprising effectiveness, much the way his dad does when he visited the Polar Star Dorm.

The problem is, at this point in the series, "what he knows" is too little. If he can increase the size of the well from which he draws (as he began to do studying under Shinomiya), then he could very well become the most innovative of all the chefs in Tootsuki. Although I was pretty upset when he lost over and over again to Hayama, in retrospect, I find this both far more believable and a much better plot development. Props to the author for that.
