Also, and this is just coming from a person who hates 80% of the trends in anime, it's still a better show than most of the series that aired in its season. |

Yeah. Space Dandy is a very good show where each episode has been a completely different experience. Not to mention the animation as been fantastic. To be honest, I like it much better than Kill la Kill at the moment. I agree that the show doesn't mostly pander to the otaku common denominator (Yeah, I know that's not a real term) like KLK can sometimes do (Which I still like btw), which is why I like it more.
BTW, I mention Kill la Kill, just because I've seen these two shows compared lately. EDIT: I also think the comedy has been great. I've laughed a lot. The humor has a real sense of wit and sometimes (Like the second half of the zombie episode) is highly inspired. Last edited by MCAL; 2014-03-31 at 22:01. |

Space Dandy is just the most recent airing show that's affiliated to Watanabe's name (that show itself is splendid imo), I would assume that the individual episode directors are pretty much given as much creative freedom as they want and have much more influence on the show than Watanabe himself hence why each episode feels so different and unique in style and storytelling, so I wouldn't take this show as an example of his directing capabilities regardless of how one feels about Space Dandy.
