What's weird here is that the other show announced for July noitaminA is a re-edited PSYCHO-PASS that is 1 hour per episode...

How are they fitting both of these? Could this be a short one?

I doubt Rerun of Psycho-Pass will be in NoitaminA.

I hope this will be better than Space Dandy. That shouldn't be too hard.

Anyway, always glad to see more original anime.

More Watanabe anime is always good. Space Dandy has been great.

Space Dandy isn't bad, though. It's just, not Cowboy Bebop, which is what I'm pretty sure everyone hoped for when they heard the words "Shinichiro Watanabe" and "space sci-fi project" in a sentence together, comedy or no.

Also, and this is just coming from a person who hates 80% of the trends in anime, it's still a better show than most of the series that aired in its season.

Space Dandy is a very good show. It doesn't appeal to your typical 2chan otaku sensibilities though. The fact that it has quite the ratings on cartoon network says enough about that.

I disagree. I think Space Dandy has only had a couple of great episodes. The rest has been mediocre to downright terrible. Watanabe just isn't good at comedy.

I mean it's more believable that they run it in another slot than that NoitaminA expanding it's airing time again.

Yeah. Space Dandy is a very good show where each episode has been a completely different experience. Not to mention the animation as been fantastic. To be honest, I like it much better than Kill la Kill at the moment. I agree that the show doesn't mostly pander to the otaku common denominator (Yeah, I know that's not a real term) like KLK can sometimes do (Which I still like btw), which is why I like it more.

BTW, I mention Kill la Kill, just because I've seen these two shows compared lately.

EDIT: I also think the comedy has been great. I've laughed a lot. The humor has a real sense of wit and sometimes (Like the second half of the zombie episode) is highly inspired.

I was a bit disappointed when I saw that there were teenagers in Watanabe's work, but that trailer looks beautiful so I now am not really bothered by it.
I wonder who the writer will be for this one.

After anohana reairing in the same block and katanagatari taking over for a cour, I just wouldn't be surprised.

Apparently they will just extend the time slot in summer to fit in both the 1-hour Psycho-Pass edition and this show.

Dunno why so much hate on Space Dandy, it's definitly an interesting experimental series.
Looking forward to this, though kinda worried about the script.

Space Dandy is just the most recent airing show that's affiliated to Watanabe's name (that show itself is splendid imo), I would assume that the individual episode directors are pretty much given as much creative freedom as they want and have much more influence on the show than Watanabe himself hence why each episode feels so different and unique in style and storytelling, so I wouldn't take this show as an example of his directing capabilities regardless of how one feels about Space Dandy.
