It's because Kubo has managed to pair every male character with a female in some way.
At the end of the day, though men may love to be all hardcore and badass they desire to be loved too. Even those of us guys who read the manga don't mind the small tidbits of hinted romance tossed to us every now and then. What's life without romance?

A LOT of pairings are missing in this list =/
Like for example: Ichigo/Orihime Ulquiorra/Orihime Soi Fon/Yoruichi - what? Just because it is yuri it doesn't mean that they can't be counted. They also had close relationship like UraYoru. So yeh...

People can be attracted to the opposite sex, or at the very least be able to appreciate the beauty of a nicely toned body, without having any sort of desire to act on it. It doesn't mean she's not still hetero. The boundaries between heterosexual and homosexual are a very grey area for many people.

I'm not saying that she is gay, but chances for being bisexual are really high there.
What she did there and the way she said it is slightly beyond simple admiration. UraYoru fans must accept that chances of her being bisexual are there no matter how you look at it. Besides she turns into a MALE cat form! Even if it only in cat form, those male hormons surely must have hit her somehow. Be it only 5% or more or less. Your UraYoru fans assumptions are based even on less facts. All you have seen is that they were childhood friends, she saved his life and they sometimes meet to disscuss things over... And you claim all of it as romantic involvment?! A canon proof? For real? Seriously, just try to forget that YoruSoi are both females and I'm sure that you would see romantic involvement far more there than in UraYoru. I don't hate UraYoru or anything, at some point I do like it but you can't deny YoruSoi relationship out there just because it is yuri. By creating Chizuru Kubo clearly gave a sign that being of same sex is not a problem for him.

Chizuru is a joke character, yuri in a shonen series is usually used as a gag.
Besides Soi Fon's adoration of Yoruichi has now taken a gag appeal that we only see in omakes. In the end, Yoruichi chose a life of exile with Urahara. Facts are facts.

If she would abondon him, she would be the worst character ever who doesn't deserve Urahara and Soi Fon put together! Urahara was her best friend no matter how you look at it and there was no way she would be able to take Soi Fon along in that mess. Yoru did what had to be done and what I would have done myself on her place. Besides as far as it goes after getting in real world they haven't seen each other for almost whole 100 years. So here are your facts, there is as much romance between UraYoru as you claim for YoruSoi. So basicly none... if YoruSoi is pure friendship, then UraYoru is even bigger one. Even if thse are omakes and fillers, they still get attention while UraYoru has none. They barely even meet to have a talk nowdays. So YoruSoi wins at the moment. And I don't say it because I'm Yorusoi supporter. I myself really wouldn't mind if Soi would end up with Byakuya or Hisagi... But that's pure crack...

You might want to tone down your shipping arguments before the mods get angry. There is no proof of anything one way or another so nothing is "fact" as you say it.
Speaking of which, are you sure you're not confused on some of your facts? It's Soi Fon who got left behind and never talks to Yoruichi anymore, not the other way around. Unless I'm mistaken, Yoruichi and Urahara have been working together this entire time. Apart from the entire living with him for the past 100 years thing, of course.
