Then Namco Bandai is stupid because there is and always will be more fans for FPS games than JRPGs. RPG's are one thing but alot people don't like JRPG's :/ ( Well no wonder, if they judge them by FF's ).

But let us get back on topic.

I agree there , Symphonia was best opus ever , specially for his solid storyline.
For the old , ToDestiny & Destiny 2 along with Eternia.

Need more info for this news tales. Seems like you can make combo using Mira's elements on Shuto's gloves.

Well, this one looks very promising indeed. It certainly looks interesting, and I'm interested in the whole "two protagonist" thing.

One thing I'm surprised about is that they're using ufotable and not Production I.G. this time. What, was Namco that impressed by the Tales of Symphonia OVAs? Both companies have done some really high-quality animation, so I guess it's not like it's a bad thing or something like that.

Looks interesting enough. Good to see another brawler character like Senel again.

Won't be playing it if it isn't localized though, which doesn't seem likely.

He's a fist character I assume? If this goes the way of Legendia (a very unfairly bashed game IMO) then looks like the lead sword user for the game will be a girl.

Dude this isn't an eroge, no fisting allowed ^^.

Andriasang.com has some detail of the game.
And some more

Asana Inoki and Naoto Miyadera are listed as directors. Some people will probably still know Asana Inoki, the guy who directed Dawn of the New World. Naoto Miyadera was involved with the script in Abyss and Symphonia (as script editor).

From what i can see on the PV, it looks like the ToG's engine.

As for localisation, imo, it is highly likely, just like i posted on the ps3 thread yesterday. Reasons being, like Abyss, this game isn't sponsored by nintendo, micosoft or sony, secondly it uses an existing engine, an thirdly it is on a sony. Unlike ToG, ToV and ToS the development of this game doesn't seem to have any kind of politics attached to it.

I'm 80% sure that TotA's engine is based on ToS.

Can say a nice trailer and seems like it will turn out well. Can only hope to see it out here since another RPG is always a joy to play through.

Haven't heard anything new from Ayumi Hamasaki in a while. That's quite nice.

Fingers cross that this sees an out of Japan release. I don't believe in their being a complete no to that happening, so here's hoping.

It would be awesome if a girl were to be the main character this time around.

I don't think we're going to be missing much if this doesn't get localised. Team Symphonia can't seem to write a good story to save their lives. Their battle systems are fundamentally the same, so once you've played one, you've played them all.

No, Tales of Symphonia didn't have a good story. It had horrible pacing and little character development after its first arc, and devolved into dungeon hunting and anime clichés.

Very interesting stuff here, but I hope it doesn't go the way of Folklore and force us to play through the exact same game twice. Furthermore, this "Double Raid" system could indicate that there won't be a party of any kind.... which would be quite interesting.

...? No, it's definitely Vesperia's engine. This is clearly a Team Symphonia game.

You've never finished Abyss.

Well, I wouldn't know about their (really) early games, but I became a fan of the Tales series because of Vesperia- It's the first game that made me stop watching anime for 6 weeks in a row! Not even WoW could do that!

That said I'm sick and tired of reading about their newer games because they aren't out in English or because I don't have the right console- I REALLY hope to play this game !

P.S - Any word about the character details?

You are correct, Abyss' linear battle system was based off of Symphonia's.

It's an opinion, and I can respect that. But I personally think Team symphonia has done an excellent job at storytelling.

I wonder if it's a "Choose the protagonist" sort that leads to different POV and storyline?

In my personal opinion, I think that while it's true that Symphonia's stories are somewhat cliched, it's the way they are able to put spins on common cliches and twist them around in the story that makes them so interesting. I especially like how in those three games, the main villain isn't just some guy who says, "lol, I want to destroy the world for the hell of it," but actually has understable motives and thinks that what they're doing is right, even if they acknowledge how extreme their methods may be. That's not to say that Team Destiny doesn't have those kinds of villains, but I see it less often.

Incidentally, my favorite Team Symphonia game is probably Abyss, because it had the best story of the three, good gameplay, and best replayability. Vesperia had the best cast and battle system, but the story was a bit weak compared to the other games, and Symphonia falls into the middle for me.

Does that mean we're getting a Team Destiny plot?

Edit: And by "we", I mean "Japan".

Yes and No, it means staff got laid-off and now we have only one team ^^.
Joking aside, since we have 2 directors, 2 characters, designed from team destiny(Inomata) and symphonia(Fujishima), maybe we get 2 different story lines, which links up at the end. So one story bit more destiny/graces and the other more symphonia/vesperia.

You think so? I mean graces engine is pretty scalable, see Wii and PS3 versions, and looks amazing. ToV engine is really blurry, slow and dated, and not very scalable, see 360 to ps3 port. I mean if i compare ToV (360 and PS3) with ToG:F, ToG is miles ahead. It maybe not cel-shaded, but it has big improvements over ToV's engine.
