The A's comics were pretty good, but starting with the StrikerS ones it's been a study in hardcore Flanderization.

Well considering this artist's way of giving that one extra character trait to all these characters. This could be how Fate is now reacting similiar to her other versions but more innocent before she becomes fully into that form from the other 4komas. As with all the pictures I've seen, Nanoha has yet to do her full 'befriending' yet. So Fate should not reach her usual 4koma mode yet. ^^;

That's why I think the roles should be reversed. Fate has no reason to act the way she acts in the A's 4komas...within the movie 4komas. She pretty much had the mentality of "get out of my way" all the way up until after the final battle, lol. While in A's, Fate obviously had an infatuation with Nanoha, the 4komas just take it to its extreme.

Problem with that thinking is, the artist is the one who decides how to work the 4koma.

First page of the Movie 1st Nano

Here as per the formula, the first two to three frames is completely normal where Nanoha is doing her opening monologue and then in the fourth frame to completely wreck it with the artist's personal humor. Chrono, Yuuno and Fate are all arguing about it since the fact that Nanoha was completely vague in the beginning. XD

Frame 1:
Right Box: "There are millions of people living on our vast planet,"
Left Box: "and there are many more meetings and partings between them."

Frame 2: "This is a story of one of those encounters and the events that followed."

Frame 3:
Right Box: "We met in the spring of my third year of elementary school. This is a small but precious story..."
Left Box: "...of our first meeting."

Frame 4:
Nanoha's speech bubble: "...Why is everyone here?"

Title at bottome: "Yes, it is NG."

The last frame which I'm having difficulty translating is basically the three of them arguing how they interpreting Nanoha's monologue. And obviously adding their own flavor to it too.

That's why it's so funny. You recognize what is going on because you already saw it happen but the last panel pretty much takes you by surprise because it wasn't canon. I really like this first page. I also find it hilarious that the artist kept Yuuno in his ferret mode. XD Thanks for the translation, Hayate22. ^^

This one is funny too. Yuuno's ferret mode comes in handy sometimes.

It wouldn't be considered thinking if the formula was set in stone. And I don't know if he's using the same formula as A's since I don't have translations, all I can do is think. But I can still think it being done a certain way would be better than another, regardless.

Hm....I agree with you. It would be funny and logical to make Fate appear the opposite within the Movie 4komas. But I haven't gotten far to know if Fate is like her A's and StrikerS counterpart (and since I can't read Japanese, I can only assume by her expressions and outbursts ). Interesting point.

Anyways, I've seen so many people go on about how Nanoha and Fate both fell in love at first sight that this author's choice to have Fate act like that right away doesn't surprise me at all. Though judging by how she flew away yelling like that, seems she's being played more as a typical tsundere for now.

I think people make that case by the end of the first season...But Fate's first reaction (and action) to Nanoha was anything but lovelove. While Nanoha was going on about Fate's sad, yet beautiful eyes... from pretty much the start.
