Odin Sphere
I'm surprised, I did a search and couldn't find any mention of this game. Such Blasphemy, probably the best use of 2D I've seen in any game, well Little Big Planet is like 2.5D :P. Seriously, PS2 keeps delivering with awesome games.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gI-V3Uw1b3U Japanese Trailer http://www.atlus.com/i/v/trailer_revision.swf US trailer, wish it was better quality Comes out May 17 in Japan, and sometime in Summer for the US. No Europe date announced yet. |

Well I've never heard to the 2 games you mentioned, but it does look like something that could have been thought up in the mind of Tim Burton. Then again, I'm a fan of Tim Burton :P
Still, it's the 2Dness that is getting me. If there is a game that looks that good, or better on the PS2, please point it out to me. Since it's obvious I have been missing out. PS2 has too many games, some fall through my radar every now and then. |

Legend of Mana (4th of the Seiken Densetsu series) had very similar 2D style but it's more chibi-fied compare to Odin Sphere. Plus, it's on PS1 system so it's actually quite an achievement then again, i dont think 2D stuff requires that much processing power but nevertheless time consuming as most graphics had to be hand drawn instead of rendered.
The next one is full 3D now. (Dawn of Mana) Almost forgot but Valkyrie Profile 1 is also a 2D game like Odin Sphere but on PS1. The 2nd VP is 3D graphics but interaction is all 2D.

The Game intro is out, I've also bought Princess Crown on PlayStation Portable before I get my hands on Odin Sphere.

http://insertcredit.com/ (it's the April 18 header) In Atlus USA's defense, I like their english voice actors. Although Cornet's english singing was poor. I like the cast in the Japanese dub. Especially Miyuki Sawashiro, Ayako Kawasumi, Mamiko Noto. |

Oh ya, this definatly looks like a game to look foward too... it's got nice feel to it imo
It really does rather make me wonder when good games are actually gonna stop coming out for the PS2... Honestly, adding in the few new games that came out recently along with the many past games i have yet to play, my PS2 will last me a good long time till i need to go next gen (heh, maybe by that time the PS3 will have a decent library)... heh, considering my PS2 is over 6 years old now, it may actually break down before i run out of games to play =P Ps2 is like, $130 new i think... even cheaper if you get a used one |
