So the Vajra seem to want a "dialogue" now? Wow how nice of them... first they kill off thousands of people (what happened to Galaxy is still a mystery...), then they come out wanting a dialogue. A nuke is the only form of dialogue for them!

Lol, you are like one of my trigger happy friends whos policy on dealing with anything more dangerous than an angry dog in any fictional universe is to "nuke"em".

Still the potential to communicate with the vajara is an interesting step non the less.

There is a brief shot in a scene with Ranka which looks like it's supposed to be at the microscopic scale. Looks to be some viruses there...

Maybe Ranka was once 100% ordinary human but was deliberately infected to see what difference it could make / possibly help understanding.

For all we know people attacked them first. The research fleet had a Vajra specimen. Maybe they were capturing Vajra and experimenting on them (hence Ranka's weird Vajra connection) and the Vajra finally had enough and made them toast. And then there is Grace who seems to be actively trying to make things worse for whatever reason. I wouldn't be surprised if she and her little faction did something deliberately to make the Vajra attack and destroy Galaxy. That is, if galaxy is even really destroyed. We don't even have confirmation on that.

Alto's almost totally focused on Ranka... but fortunately turned up just in time to save Sheryl+Michael+Luca. Poor Sheryl - her "princess on a white horse" turns up just in time to save her, but is soon off on another rescue mission.

Luca's fine - he just lost his gun. He carried Michael back to the Quarter.

Still, he's not very "genre smart" is he - raising all those death flags. Though given Frontier took some damage, maybe we shouldn't be worrying so much about him.


edit Ooops. I guess you meant near the end of the ep, when he was paying too much attention to Alto's piloting.

Doesn't look fatal though. Alto's done much worse and survived

That's what I was thinking. The Vajra don't seem to be especially hostile unless provoked. I drew this conclusion from the way Grace was talking last episode.

Haven't seen anyone else mention this, but Alto's piloting skill seems to have gone up a level or 2 (compared to last major battle). He's going through the Vajra like a knife through hot butter - and Ozma notices this.

It's the, "I must save <Insert Character Name Here> Power-up."

Really though, people can do amazing things when they're hell-bent on doing something. In this case, it was not dying and saving Ranka.

We'll have to see how he is in the next battle. If he's more normal again then I guess it was just a temporary boost. Still, he is getting much more used to taking down enemies. I think he even managed to not damage it during the actual battle (though might be a bit singed from firing all that stuff inside the mother Vajra).

However, his attempts at GAR/hot-blooded yells still sound "fake" to my ears. Not sure if this is deliberate of the VA or not... or it might simply be how it comes across to me.

The more I see of Cathy's dad the worse my opinion of him becomes. He seems like just the type of useless politician that Ozma was railing about in episode 3. It's becoming quite clear that he is a bigot that can't seem to get past his prejudices very well. No wonder it is so easy for Leon to manipulate his ass.

And of course this episode shows just how well Sheryl and Alto go together. You see how the staff deliberately allowed Sheryl to destroy the VF-25? That was just to show how they can connect on many levels. They are are both banes of the VF-25 and need each other for support.

Really though I got some really strong Hikaru-Misa-Minmei vibes in this episode.

I just noticed that the blast that went through the shield hit pretty close to Mihoshi. Am I evil to be hopeful about Nanase getting the pineapple salad treatment instead of Luca? It would be a nice reversal of the Pineapple Salad Effect.

So the song played in Bye Bye Sheryl Concert rehearsal was Iteza Gogo Kyuuji remix. I hope they release that version also.

Man, Sheryl sucks at piloting...I wonder if Sheryl will be shocked to see Grace alive.

i'll make sure i ask what part of the show is that located at next week so i can skip it, i deem that to be unacceptable and reckless behavior on the director/writers part.
