notice that he said he almost never researches characters. and the "dare I say as big as naruto," is testament of that fact.

Ok, I'm worried about Ishida's character again.

From reading the interview, I think I understand why he (Steven Prince) isn't terribly well received in his roles. I mean, I get the impression that he doesn't really take the job seriously for one. It's fine that it's just a side job since it's not voice acting isn't terribly lucrative, but I get the vibe that being a VA is almost a hassle to him. Also, he says that he really isn't an anime/manga fan and I really don't think that you can do as good a job as you can if you don't enjoy what it is your are doing something for. Er, I don't know if that exactly made sense, but I think most will get what I mean.

Then again, this kind of thing is common I guess, and I probably just don't realize it. Still though, his attitude kind of hit a nerve with me.

two things that they really need to do. keep the attack names, and call them shinigami. I don't care too much if they change the names of the swords and call them soul slayers instead of zampakto

They'll prolly keep "Shinigami", but I'd bet they go with "Death God" if not. I agree with them using "Soul Slayer" though. Also, I think they'll dub the Shikai Commands.

Now that is the kind of attitude I think a person should have when doing something like this. He seems like he will do a good job, though I've never heard any of his work so I can't say for sure. I hope he does at the very least, because that would only serve to further influence my perception that attitude has a huge impact on the finished product, so yeah. And like Thewanderer said, major spoiler alert on the interview.

Renton's voice is surprisingly fitting, if you can get over the initial shock of hearing it.

I think, at least.

That's cool, I have a unique point of view then.

I mean I'm not totally pro-dub or pro-sub... I'm kinda in the middle. Not prejudiced or anything, I don't disregard any dub just because it's a dub. But I don't like them all either(especially the CCS dub, One Piece dub, etc).

There would be something mentally wrong with you if you could tolerate the One Piece dub.

You know what would make me want to watch English dubs? If every character was voiced by some really tough black guy, like Samuel L. Jackson or Mr. T. Imagine if it was like that with Tenten from Naruto... "EAT MY RISING TWIN DRAGONS, B*TCH!"

That would probably be the only thing to get me to watch anime in english...

Commercial for Bleach featuring Ichigo and Rukia. I take back what I said about JYB going to fuck this up. Apparently he must read net criticism because I like what I hear in that preview. Rukia is good too.

They used Soul Reaper like in the English manga so I am very happy.

Death to that Shinigami nonsense.

I'm not at all surprised. Just disappointed. As for the voice acting... It isn't really bad, just not very good either. The voices are solidly mediocre.
