This is also incorrect, Wine implements Win32 APIs and provide the mechanisms to run PE format files.

Thanks for all this information, I got PD to work perfectly, but now I have another question.

My unity folder is 2 and something GB, I want to change the settings to at least 3 gigs, but PD won't let me. It keeps saying Unity folder must be at least 40 GB. What do I do how do I change the settings?

And also I was able to download up to 88% of an anime, but it stayed like that for a while what can I do to change that?

The unity size it shows on the info tab is current / max and its size setting is just to adjust the max, which has to be at least 40 GB (40960 MB). To increase the amount of unity you've actually got, you either have to just wait for it to automatically download more unity files or upload files of your own.

As for stalled downloads, wait and hope.

Okay so I managed partially download something, for some reason it disappeared from my download tab, but it shows on my download folder, I can't see if the dowload is completerly done.

Since the font is so small, I can't tell how big the file supposed to be, but in my download folder it shows 302, and in the search tab it shows 303 MB. What should I do, do I need to re-download the file again?

Then it's done.

Differences in rounding, it's the same number rounded differently.

PD checks downloaded file integrity in cryptographically secure manner (as far as I understand) so if it says a file is complete, it really is complete.

Thanks, for the info, also my unity folder is almost 10 GB, my downloads where already dowloading at 2 GB and I can't seem to change it so it downloads at 2GB, whenever I try to change the settings it reads:

Unity folder must be at least 40 GB, others seemed to be able to change the settings, so why can't I.

Any ideas.

If you cannot afford a harddrive to dedicate for PD, then it's not the software you should be using. Harddrives are extremely cheap these days, go buy a new one.

You can set your unity folder size to anything you want, as long as it's 40GB or larger

Actually my harddrive is more than 200 GB, I just don't want a full 40GB to be dedicated to PD, but oh well I guess I just have to deal -.-

hi all

I have read in diagonal pretty much all messages in this thread but couldnt find any info about how to manually add files in PD.

I somehow understand you can input some kind of ID but so far I have been unable to know how/where to get such ID

when I was using Winny, I often used files hashs found in hashdb, but the hash provided for PD doesnt seem to be considered valid ID by PD

any idea about this ?

I dunno, if I had to guess, it's probably the SHA-1 hash of the file.

IIRC it's a salted SHA-1 actually.

i see
then I presume there is simply no way to generate the ID without having the file itself and uploading it into PD

Hi guys, I need help getting PD to work... I used to use PD all the time with great download speeds and no problems whatsoever... then one day PD just stopped working.

- On the information tab: send and receive stay at 0 kb/s, occassionally it would reach 1 kb/s for a second then back to 0.
- My windows firewall is disabled, I have my router port forwarding the PD port, and the top message says "perfect dark is online", and I get a constant stream of flow messages.
- In settings: the internet connection is set to ADSL 12.0 Mbps.
- I have a unity size of about 10gb
- I'm using the latest node list

From the looks of it PD should be working fine but it isn't. I tried doing a fresh install of PD and yet the unity folder doesn't build up. Keyword searching doesn't build up either and is stuck at around 3000 "keyword search". None of the few available files would start downloading either. I've tried other versions of PD up to the latest 1.06 and they all do the same thing.

Can anyone help me please?
