I have a feeling that the Young Master will be to scared to do anything, one of the guards will tell him "i'll show you what to do!" then go in to attack and BOOM!

Reflexes kick in and our boy will shock everyone will his movements...before getting knocked out somehow.

But the question will be there...where the hell did he learn that?

PS. Does anyone else think that the new slave (forgot his name) will try and save the slave girl from something and Thorf will have to get him out of it?

That would me my guess too with a more 'normal' manga, but you do remember the finale of the 'Prologue', don't you?

yeah, I'd say everyone but throfinn will be slaughtered somehow in some attack on the farm and this awakens old thorfinn and he leaves in search of Thorkell or Canute or something. I'm calling it.

Initial thoughts is Thorfinn has been waiting/looking for someone as strong as Askeladd, so he can defeat said person in place of Askeladd?

So i finished reading this and i gotta say it really is the more realistic version of berserk and better than it in many ways.

It does take a lot of influence from berserk with prince caspute being reminiscent of griffith but i think its slowly distancing itself from berserk.

And this only seems to be the beginning of the plot considering the message a few chapters back that this was the end of the prologue and only now will the real plot truly begin.

This mix of political intrigue and constant backstabbing is intriguing, I'm eagerly awaiting caspute's brother coming into the storyline and see how caspute himself is faring now after this time skip.

Berserk in my mind, is far better. If only because of Guts ownage and his extreme badassness.

But Vinland Saga and Berserk are different genres after all (fortunately the French toad face in the first volume was just a singular slip from Yukimura's side :-) ).
BTW, we seem to have very similar tastes regarding manga.

You can never have too much of Guts' extreme rages. They are so epic. Although I'm kind of waiting for him to get back with an army...

But Vinland Saga, Berserk, Ares...all have a similar feel to it. Even Sidooh in my mind is a lot like these.

Before they show Caspute I'd really like them to finish the current arc.
