Well played. For a second I was starting to think that Princess Starla's blimp was real, still up there, and killing faceless workers like a plague. Yuuko, your imagination is boundless. Never forget that. Even when you're wandering around town in a pair of novelty glasses with a knight from beyond time. Considering the map, what did Mai think that place was? Kanon Town?
Mio's understanding of what "coffee coffee" is apparently causes reality to distort. But everything causes reality to distort here. Even with the fakeout at the end, the world was still built here. Misato has a little sister. Nano has a little brother. And someone in Helvetica Standard has a gun(!). If there's one question to take away from this episode, though, I suppose it must be one that you can find in a book that's not packed with firearms. "Do androids dream of electric sheep?" |

Mm. I'm not much for the little scene-that-progresses-through-time sequences they're using again. This ep felt kind of dark with the book and the blimp sequences. In contrast with the first blimp scene, the humor is darker but the backdrop is a
And it's a bit odd hearing "Green, Green" with piano and harmonizing. |

Lots of the out-of-this-world elements emerged this episode, and it allowed Kyoani to animate some very nice stuff.
The Helvetica Standard book scene was just beautiful. Haven't seen Kyoani do the surreal scenery porn since Clannad(K-On and Haruhi's scenery focused on realism). The blimp sequence was evil yet delicious. I like to think that all the numbered goons that fell became an hair accessory for some random girls walking on the street. To balance the black humor out, that "Like Love" sequence was very cute. Sad that Nano and Professor's dance was the same as episode 15's. Oh well. Lastly, lol Starbucks Frappe at the end.

As for the book bit...I'm not sure. Somehow I get the feeling it is one of three things: 1) She's a murderer 2) She's planning suicide and know of some legendary guns in a book or something. 3) She was after the book and found someone took out the pages to fit in a gun All of those are messed up. That they used Clannad style backgrounds and gave the character a nose...makes it even more strange.

For me it seemed like her favorite book from her childhood was used by the librarian to hide his/her gun. Though yeah it can implied in another way.

In any case I hope they will include this one.... Spoiler for See the beast in action:

^^ biscuit no.2.
It is quite funny if you think about it. The professor built nano and now a new series of robots that are slightly inferior to her. Well at least no.1 had rocket punch. Cannot wait to see the next part of Yukko's princess starla dreams. |
