Bump for update! A few new scans are out with some real interesting info:
Spoiler:
So it's explained that haki is used when you push R1 after a gauge is filled. Observation haki (Eneru's specialty) raises speed, Armament haki (Zoro's specialty) obviously raises both offense AND defense, while Conqueror's haki (Luffy) is an instant-KO AOE attack, as we've already seen in the trailers. As for those who are unable to use haki, they have "Style Actions" to make up for it, with characters like Franky and Kuma having attack-type actions while Nami and Robin use technical actions. Real neat to see that a little more depth was added to the combat. Also, you may notice that Franky in his shogun mode is pictured in those scans..... One more thing to note: Thriller Bark HAS been confirmed. In fact, it's even pointed out in the text of the last scan that DeathStrike previously posted. Boy, I really hope this means we get a playable Moria! |

All that means is that Eneru is just used as an example of one of the new characters that will be in this game. Kuma has already been confirmed; and with the inclusion of the Thriller Bark story arc, Moria will most likely be revealed soon. So yes, there are new characters. Will the number of new entrants satisfy your ridiculous expectations? No chance in hell of that.

Gigant Battle 1 had 20 playable characters Gigant Battle 2 added in 19 new characters making the roster 39 (Taking out the SHs) Adding in 5 new characters isn't impressive at all for a sequel. That's really weak. If a sequel to a handheld can add in 19 new playable characters then this game doesn't have any excuses. Must be really hard to make the NPCs from the first game playable. It's easier to put in characters who already have moves/in the game than making a brand new character from scratch. There is also the main issue with the Arcs being left out but going with how they handle this game I don't expect much probably 3-4 "new" arcs. |

Unfortunately with games like Gigant Battle as I've said before, is even though they have a larger roster than games like Pirates Warriors... alot of the characters they DID add like Koby, X Drake, or Hody is that since they haven't been entirely looked at, their movesets suffer. Alot of their movesets are generic punches/kicks/stab attacks. Especially with characters like Hody where even though one of their specials is the ES Pills, his other specials were generic/unnamed stab bite attacks instead of say Kirisame attacks or transforming. Although yes, it did have a larger roster (and again, seperate game genre's), alot of them pretty much had the same movesets.... though, the biggest exception would be Doflamingo. The BEST moveset~ Sooo... pretty much your saying the only reason you come into this topic is to complain about this game?

Wow, not only did we get Moria confirmed... we got post-timeskip Perona too? Why did it never occur to me that she'd be a fantastic addition~? Hopefully we get pre-timeskip Perona as a costume too~
Interesting to note too from those screenshots... we have a screenshot of Luffy pummeling down on Fishmen... somewhat confirmation atleast for Fishman Island?
