Well anyways this episode was pretty interesting. More new faces coming into things. It should be nice to have Ronove around. At least makes the show down more comfortable for Battler with cookies and the compliment . But it was interesting to get a look at Beatrice's past since there is a lot we don't have information about regarding these witches. It's always sad when apparently nice kids turn into dangerous people that go around causing deaths....
It was a nice change for Battler to turn the red words on Beatrice for a change. Though at the same time I wonder about the level of control Beatrice shows over the situation. Can she just change events on a whim mid game? Curious about how some things will play out like the young Eva. Plus too bad that Battler didn't live up to his words about coming back on a white horse. Now that would have been a fun way to kick the new round .

Wow. Superb episode.
My jaw literally dropped at the awesome new OP animation. I re-watched the OP around 10 times for just this one episode. I especially loved young Eva's killer smile, the clash between old Beatrice and new Beatrice, and, of course, Ange and the huge red moon. The rest of the episode was prettier than usual too, or maybe I'm just biased since Ronove was introduced. He had too few lines for me to enjoy his presence so much though... I do just love his sarcastic commentaries and the like. Oh, and I am so itching to re-read episode 3 and 4 of the visual novels after watching that OP. Last edited by Qilin; 2009-09-17 at 10:18. |

After finally having watched the episode with subs, especially the last Meta-part with Battler and Beato, I still think Hempel's Raven will be included next episode, since the conversation was cut half-way. It's an importnat thing they can't leave aside

Edit: thanks to those that answers my question
Spoiler for for those that still want to read my stupid question~:
I really should wait till the next episode to make any more comment......right now it's just me making myself look stupid XD P.S. Speaking of the goldenslaughter, isn't it time to let Krauss/Rudolf/Kyrie to have a chance to shine? Rosa, Shannon and Gohda got their chance in the last arc and they took it superbly. Or is it Eva's turn? (Don't have to answer this one, just my personal hopeful wishes.)

This adaptation was great. I'll give it a 10 for the character designs from flashback scenes.
+VN players did not get to see the younger versions of Beatrice, Kinzo, Krauss, and Eva(The one from her twenties). While young Kinzo looked nothing like I thought he would, little Beatrice was perfect. +The original Beatrice's voice fits with the character very well and you get the kind grandmother feeling from her. +Ronove didn't have much time but nice character design though. +Good job on the design of school girl Eva. It's clear that Eva is having trouble suppressing her during the family conference. -Regarding Ronove... I THOUGHT HIS LITTLE LAUGH WAS INCREDIBLY GAY -There was an important scene left out but mabye they'll add it with a flashback later on. |

Now that I've watched the episode with subs, and now that I'm seeing it through the eyes of a VN player, I have to say that's it's going to be a really different experience from here on out. Regardless, there's nothing major to complain about for this episode, it was a great adaption for the time they had to work with. I don't want to get too hopeful, but perhaps DEEN were saving the big guns for the Arcs that really matter, so I'm once again going to expect great things coming into this one.
Only a couple minor things I didn't like: + The re-using of animation irks me for some reason. I know that reanimating the discussion at the dinner table over and over again would be trivial, but it still feels like an itch I can't scratch. + The transitions from the game board to the meta-world seemed kind of cheap at times. I know they were sudden in the VN, but I feel that the transition during the beach wasn't sudden enough. Maybe I was just hoping that the transition would make me jump like it did in the VN. >_> Like I said, nothing important at all. + Ronove didn't have enough to time to flaunt his homosexual tendencies. + Speaking of which, I could have sworn that there was at least one Red Truth used during this time in the VN... or am I remembering it wrong?

I think this is the first time I've totally loved an episode. There were a few art inconsistencies as usual, but overall it was really good.
Really liking Ronove and "Beatrice"'s voices. (I just like listening to them talk, even. XD ) Oh, and Ronove's little laugh was so delightful, bwahaha. Young Eva was really good, too. They all sound pretty... perfect. o__o; Oh and, when the meta-world scene kicked in, with Beato saying "Like I'd let you!" or w/e, the way she said it was SO great--it just made me burst out laughing. <3 Ohara. |
