I thought they can't pull it off with wow engine

this is why people should do research before making video of any kind, WOW engine = WC3 engine. If you can make tower def games with WC3 then why can't you make it with the same engine in another game?!?

Well, my Brewfest luck continues...already this time around, I've snared 3 more mounts to take my all-time tally to 7 (5 kodos, 2 rams). My DK alt now has both. Also farmed the Wintersaber feat mount since it will be gone come Cata.

I managed to get on Beta for a bit today, long enough to hit 85. I REALLY like Uldum! So much fun from the moment you start. Really love the Egyptian atmosphere. However, I've noticed some major problems. With a couple of Mage spells and some world/environmental issues. However, the section which used to allow posting of replies/suggestions while in the game doesn't seem to be there anymore. And I couldn't find an appropriate thread on the WoW forums. Does anyone know which thread is the right one to post constructive feedback in? Those forums confuse the heck out of me.

PS. The opening quest line in Uldum is so full of win! I haven't laughed that hard in ages! ^^

WoW and WC3 don't have the same engine, Blizzard don't reuse engines. I think the only time they ever did was for an early pre-alpha version of SC1 using the WC2 engine.

Wait are they really removing the Wintersaber mount from being obtainable in cata?

I've not hear anything about him being gone in CATA. Frostsaber Rock is even clearly marked on the map now.

Unfortunately the Wintersaber mount is indeed going to be gone. As well as the Kingslayer title, the Zul'Gurub Mounts. Basically all sorts of things.

Also as Tokkan said, Blizzard did indeed use the same engine only once. And that was for SC1 and WC2. But that doesn't mean they will ever use that technique again, because Blizzard loves to be creative.

I still want that companion from the mini-game

Question then is it just going to be completely removed when 4.x.x goes live like Zul'Gurub Mounts, or is going to be removed with phasing that happens when you start cata?

Going to be removed when Cataclysm is released. The pre-patch Blizzard is releasing is not going to remove it though. Only when Cataclysm is set in stores.

Rivendare's Deathcarger from the Baron in Stratholme will also be gone since he is being nerfed to a level 45 boss.

Was that ever confirmed? That was just a rumor someone started and I never saw any definites from Blizz regarding that mount.

Indeed.. I never heard Rivendare's mount being dropped because he was getting down-graded..

Actually they don't need to remove that mount since you can get Epic riding at 40 now instead of 60. Also they changed the boss, but he still has the last name of Rivendare.

Great I better get farming soon if I want it ever then , and I was aiming to go for it at some point since I rather like the model of winterspring saber, though I guess there won't be much use for land mounts in cata aside from certain towns, and PVP related stuff will there?

Land Mounts are probably only gonna be used in dungeons/raids that allow it, and anti-fly zones from now on. Everywhere else is flying in the skies. So PvP is hardly gonna be seen unless you go to the new Cataclysm zones.
