I don't care how big of an ass-pull is necessary; right now I just want Laxus to beat all of them no matter what. I hope maybe Erza will somehow see through the illusion with her magical prosthetic eye, or that Natsu will detect something is off with his sense of smell. Just thinking about Laxus going down like this makes my heart sink. Damn it Mashima always knows how to pull my strings.

Thirded. The Icing on the cake would be that Laxus would insult each member of RT before knocking them into kingdom come.

Flare: Although I don't approve of female abuse, looks like your vag is the only thing less acidic than your hair.

Narpudding: Sheesh, no wonder pudding is part of your name. Did you eat so much your chins are individual members of your guild? Their names should be: 1- Fat, 2- Husky, 3- Fluffy, 4- DAYUM!

Kurohebi: Hey, Orochimaichemicalromance, Midnight called he wants his eye makeup back. No one uses an adjective and an animal to describe their junk in order to get girls anymore you asshole.

Obra: You look like the triple contact fusion of Gonzo from the muppets, something made by Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, and Spider-man prototype drawing that plays with dolls.

Ivan: Dad, I gotta say, from the bottom of my heart, time for you, to grow up *punch in the nose*.

That would be the perfect ending^^.

I'm hoping for Mavis to help out Laxus (to turn the tide) or maybe Mr.Bunny will sense a disturbance in the force and breaks the illusion somehow.
The way they showed Mr.Bunny this chapter is like that he will do something grand very soon.

But yeah I hope Laxus even if not win against the RT he will at least break the illusion to show the world what total pieces of shit RT really is. You know lost a battle, but won the war.

Mystogan was a boss with this type of magic, considering jellal is his counterpart - it's assumable he knows what's really going on. If anything, I am highly confident laxus can take on ivan.

If anything, it would be great to see Lexus vs them all cleanly.
Honestly, I doubt it, seeing as though Ivan uses underhanded tactics - if anything jellal or ultear might get involved idk.

Ultear's too far to have any sort of affect on that match. This is a a phenomanal display of illusionary magic if even Mavis, who is dead, is fooled... Unless she's not, and she's giving Erza a head's-up on how best to dispel the illusion, along with Jelly.

...y'know, that might be the only way I'd accept him - if he becomes Mavis's eternal lapdog.

I'd bet or at least hope if anyone is to see through the illusion it would be Mavis.
She wasn't shown to show a reaction to the fight so far, I'm taking that as a good sign she knows whats going on.
If anything we could see her stepping in herself which I wouldn't mind if only after Laxus lays the smack down on a few of RT

I'm starting to catch up a bit on the manga thanks to your guy's advice, and I'm trying not to get too far ahead.

I'm on chapter 271, at Lucy's fight with Flaire, and did anyone else notice that Lucy's whip is back to it's original design?

Funny you should bring that up. According to the current filler arc, Lucy had to get her Fleuve d'étoiles fixed because it stopped working after being inactive for seven years. When she got it back in the latest episode, it was fitted with an ordinary whip that can still turn into an extendable beam of energy whenever she wants.

I'm guessing it's another one of those continuity slip-ups Hiro Mashima that made in the manga, so he made up an explanation for it that the anime creators showed us.

It's either something like that, or Mashima may have preferred Lucy's design with her whip more, but didn't know how to work it into the plot and explain it, so he let the anime writers do so. Either way, this, Yukino's mention of the Zentopia incident, Juvia and Lyon's budding relationship, and Kinana finally making her manga appearance reinforces the idea that this filler arc in the anime is canon, at least partially.

@Sergel02

Which chapter did Yukino mention the Zentopia incident and Kinana appear in?

(or are you talking about that one chapter where Kinana was given a character sheet?)

Kinana made a small appearance with the rest of the guild in chapter 285. She's seen to the right. I actually could never find her character sheet, can someone tell me what chapter it's in?

Yukino mentioned the incident in chapter 282.

Sorry couldn't find the chapter, It's somewhere in volume 21 bonus.

My guess is that she will get more involved when Cobra appears again, and I think it will be when the dragon arc will be close by.

Does FTs 3 victories so far on Day 3 have to do with the date? and what do you think will happen 7/7?

Simply put in the story it is now July 3rd according to the last page of ch 280 it was the end of the second day and stated to be July 2nd.

Now as some of you may recall Lucy presumably joined Fairy Tail on July 3rd. In Chapter 3. When Natsu, Lucy and Happy left to find Macao, it was at night and they returned in daylight, which is most likely the next day (Romeo says the mountains are not far away). An info box on the last page says the date is July 4th and that she went from sunny to snowstorm to sunny, further suggesting that it is July 3rd.

Well anyways, we've had 3 back to back Fairy Tail victories on July 3rd oddly too. Maybe the battle round on day 2 could represent the night (second event = last half of the day aka night) before Lucy joined and that likely corresponds with the night Lucy and Natsu destroyed there first town together. Oh sweet memories...

Plot wise the main team of Fairy Tail character (Natsu, Lucy, Happy) have now from their point of view completed one year* together (*Unless you count the 3 month time jump against them or count it as 8 years (7 +1) instead ).

So if you think this might be true that Mashima choose today July 3rd (plot wise) for Fairy Tail's comeback has any possibility of being true, then do you believe this will effect the outcome of Laxus vs Raven Tail? aka will the streak hold since it is there "lucky" day? Or will they only have 3 victories because it was only a 3 member team on those dates (as crazy as this sounds remember Demise equaled route E, so who knows... Mashima is a bit odd with his riddles and stuff)?

----

Now next off that means July 7, the stated day for the "eclipse" is 4 days away... but there is only 2 days left of the 5 day tournament.
  • So will the tournament be completed before the prophecy starts unfolding?
  • Will the tournament end in some tie forcing a tiebreaker extension?
  • Will Raven Tail get caught cheating thus forcing a redo of some events, thus pushing things back and allowing the prophecy to interrupt the tournament (or Jellal ousted or the bunny guy)? Or at the very least cause the tournament people pause the tournament for a day or two to consider how respond to this?
  • Will the prophecy start unfolding place after the tournament (like Lucy gets grabbed after partying too hard)?
  • Will they just move up there schedule and attempt to capture Lucy/Yukino again early? Just to troll the tournament since captain guy can't wait for his own plan's scheduled date...
  • If the eclipse plan gets started early (aka before 7/7), will Lucy be rescued/return on 7/7?
  • Will the Dragons return 7/7 as a result of the Eclipse plan?
  • Will Zeref show up then or before 7/7?
  • Will Lucy's mom show up in any for on 7/7 or when Lucy disappears?

Simply put what are your thoughts on the dates of the tournament? Mashima seems to like dates in this series so how will he use them this time?

So, RT is a specialised anti-FT guild, so does that mean when they study FT's members closely before they recruit members? And only put out members for the tournament that have direct advantages over FT's?

I don't think it'll be a clear "This RT member counters that FT member" type deal. I however bet that they do have anti FL, FG and FS type magic or combos. I don't see someone as smart as Ivan/Iwan risking being taken out by a random FL.
