Does this apply for foreign students as well? I doubt everyone from every country in ISA is 15 due to the different education system of some countries.

Once again, can't comment that much. Such as the glaring difference between Philippine and Indonesia for example.

Officially, entry age of 4 for Kindergarten, 6 for elementary, 13 for Junior High, and 16 for High School. As you note however there's high tendency of portraying 15 years old First Year student. If this is mere fictional, I doubt most manga and anime did that.

I really don't know about variation, but I suspect it's more about potential efficiency (according to some sources). If you're too young, you'll face some problem, intelligence, physically and mentality wise. As you said, being 19 years old teacher is hellish experience.

To-love-Ru reference:
Rito: mid 15, Haruna: exact 16, Ren/Lun: early 17, Lala: late 15, Risa: late 15, Mio: mid 15, Saruyama: very late 15

(Nana and Momo doesn't count, each are 13 and Principal is damn unreliable)

@ Senpai - Then are there special schools for those who plan to go to ISA? Ichika mentions multiple nationalities of girls during the story, but he speaks with them and hears Japanese from just about everyone. Learning a language isn't easy.

You could just as well ask why everyone in Gosick speaks Japanese.

In a twist, it was revealed the everyone speak English...

Just kidding, the author did not explain that to be honest. I suspect that unlike Japanese student who are rather lackey (Ran took the test for example) foreign student do it much earlier, but then again there's no requirement for test in February if that's the cause....

We also never explained about written test (or lack thereof)

Ofcourse they all speak English, it was the same thing at the end of Gosick when they revealed Victorique didn't speak Japanese even though we always heard so.

You could also ask why we can understand all the aliens in Dragonball.

The problem is that Ichika understands perfectly well what they're saying and there's no indication that he even knows english. If it were two english speakers talking to each other, then I'd say it was oaky.

@ Box - Ah, ah, ah! When was it stated they were speaking Jap? That scene was never animated, so we can assume they were speaking english.

@ Demi - The last hope's the end of the series, yet it's the prequel

I prefer the one with Claude and Rena.

Side note - Then how were they going to get away with Charles gender identity? I assume ISA has medical checkups that require you to forgo your top and Dunoa wouldn't have been able to send a doctor there to cover for her or they'd be in deep shit.

That's because of Translation Convention, it's all so the reader/viewer can easily follow the plot. If anything, it's okay to disregard logic. As box said, we're thinking too hard.

That aside, this is the fourth time you ask that yet you ignore my suggestion.

Kira had to translate it on BT, meaning it was written in Japanese.

I play Second Story back when my PS1 still functional, and yes it was awesome.

That aside, per agetreme's thesis, it was impossible, or at least not cost efficient. In mine, the I.S. engineering school is co-ed. I.S.A. student had to barge in XD

Side note - Just reread V3 again in detail, apparently Gospel is even more Hax than in anime...
