No.. outside of subscribing to the magazine that might be running a series one chapter at a time.
I don't really understand the value of such a thing... why buy only a chapter at a time? Japanese manga volumes run about 300-600 yen and english ones run about $10 (or a sack of returnable cans).... ....

Try Chinese?
Quote:
I can even get the latest manga at US$1 (approx after conversion) and I could tell you where if you are interested. Sure the quality is not the best but its more than passable. I usually buy an entire series when I make the purchase. Its in Chinese though. If you really need english translated ones, you can try the library. I got my Gunslinger girl Vol.1 - 3 there. |

My recommendations for UK residents:
http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/ Amazon Marketplace: Buy from: aphrohead_books (http://www.aphrohead.co.uk/) I've ordered from these 2 suppliers and received excellent speed and service. Queries are answered quickly, fast delivery and fair prices. Avoid caiman_usa on marketplace, their positive feedback is deceptive as a lot of the orders are fulfilled late or just refunded, they appear to be selling books they don't have in stock which immediately throws them off the "dispatch within 2 days" period.

Also recommending to europeans in general:
http://www.archonia.com/index.php Delivery to the UK took 7 days (5 working days), which is perfectly acceptable.

I did a cursory glance and didn't see www.fujisan.com - I used to buy import manga from them often and had my BetsuFure and Japanese Shonen Jump subscription through them and never had a problem, so I reccomend them for import manga...

www.onemillioncomix.com For those of you live in GTA area, i spend 30 minutes to get their by subway. Its near Yonge & Bloor 7.99USD,11.99CAD. But they charge you 7.99CAD ^^ And all the dvds and action figures are currently 20% off.

Another online store that I haven't seen mentioned is Book Closeouts; they don't have a specific manga section (their "comics & graphic novels" is mostly American comics) so you'll have to do specific title, ISBN or publisher searches. Right now they seem to have a lot of older Tokyopop manga for $3.99 each. |

Bookoff in Hartsdale NY closing!
I just found out the BookOff in Hartsdale, NY (Westchester County) is closing on 08/31/2007; all books and manga are 30% off, CDs (and DVDs I think) are at least 10% off. They have a small selection of English-translated manga and other books as well.
Picked up a lot of manga and DVDs there over the years; I'll miss it. The store in Manhattan isn't closing, but it's too hard for me to get to. |
