I think I read somewhere about the radio show the seiyuus of Uiharu and Saten which were talking about Uiharu's powers... which of course, none of them knew anything about nor the staff wouldn't tell them about it... yet.

Either way, it has to be mentioned somewhere seeing as the manga is focused on the sisters arc as of now and they wouldn't have time to feature Uiharu there... and the LN is too focused with Touma and co. so basically, the Railgun anime is only our hope for this revelation... :P

Interestingly enough, in Railgun's Vol 3 omake (Kuroko's Diary), one of the entries state (rough translate):

Even overlooking that her thoughts are strange, must her appearance also look like a field of flowers, what is this girl thinking?

Seems Uiharu's state of mind is connected with the flowers?

(BTW, these diary entries also chronicle Kuroko's descent into railgun-shipping, not sure if anyone has translated them yet)

Seems after the events in Episode 21, Uiharu has been a hated character in the series forums of MyAnimeList.

Though beloved yuri goddess here needs defining. I thought Saten was the hated character after being turned main cast?

Saten was hated because of what she "did" to her friends back before she fell into a coma in the Level Upper Arc. Seems everything died down after that.

Now, Uiharu defies Kuroko for the first time, and they hate it because it seems there's an increasing number of fanboys devoted to her. I hope this nonsensical trashing-up of Uiharu ceases ASAP.

Not exactly; her power is apparently to force things she touches to remain a constant temperature. She only uses it to keep things warm because she can't exactly go around touching things that are hot/cold enough to hurt her. Thus, her power is somewhat similar to the 'constant speed' guy that Kuroko fought in her and Uiharu's flashback episode. It's not a totally useless power, all things considered, but certainly very limited; given a few years to level up, she could probably be invaluable to the space program...

She would already invaluable to spacce programe.... if they bother to put her into one, though. With the talent she already have, she doesn't really need her power.

It depends on how they define 'touch,' i.e. how much matter she can affect at a time.

I guess she'll never die of exposure, though... or at least not exposure to the elements. It remains to be seen whether or not Saten will manage to kill her with that other kind of 'exposure.'

If it weren't touch limited, though (and it might not be, if she increased her level), it could be a really, really useful power. Lots of chemical reactions rely on heat; she could probably cause regular guns to just stop working completely. Projected energy weapons/powers that rely on heat to do damage would also be totally useless against her.

I don't believer her power can affect much. She is a lv.1 after all, her calculation capacity is limited. But as long as she can maintain the heat of herself, I would say she is invaluable to many experiments already.
Though, to her, the power might be just something superflous.
What she really want probably is just the calculation capacity of an esper which would improve on the other skill she has.

At first glance it seems kind of a weak power, but it does seem really useful. It'll probably come in handy alot too.

Plus, she's only a level 1. Give her time to level up and her powers will expand, possibly not just keep temperatures at a constant, but also increase and decrease them too.

Well, she's already secretly using her ability to safely overclock her PC. Keeping things at constant temperature may look simple and useless at first, but when you think about the mechanisms of this ability (i.e. how she keeps the temperature constant)...

Anyway, the "touch" limitation among psychics is quite vague. Personally, unless stated otherwise, I just assume that the "touch" limitation just means that the psychic's AIM field only extends a few centimeters at most from her skin.

Possibly. That's only speculation on my part, but seeing as a single ability can give mutltiple uses. For example Misaka's electricty and magnetism lets her do so much.

Depending on what exactly allows her to keep things constant temp..... Well, you get the idea. It's not to far a stretch from Keep Things Constant to Change Its Temp, especilly considering she is at such a low level right now.
