Well, the Red Dragon is still the symbol of Wales even today, so it's more related to the native Britons in general than to King Arthur in particular. Saber did supposedly have some relationship to dragons, though, according to her FSN description.

Spoiler for VN:
So yeah, the dragon was a sort of tie-in to Saber's true identity for the three people in the world who hadn't already figured it out by that point. It was just... well, a really silly looking tie-in. But then, Camelot is a silly place. |

Overrated as heck, just like most anime. A bad adaptation of a good game that is mostly interesting as an idea. King Arthur is a tsundere chick that becomes a passive sheep in love. Oh, and there is a grail somewhere in there just as excuse to get the characters together. Oh, and mosters with names taken from random heroes as luckluster. And lots of slow paced episodes around the frustration of the average wimp we have seen a million times already. And them some random explosions and boring battles. Yeah, very entertaining.
6/10 and only because it mixed a lot of crazy stuff together. |

I don't think it's possible, TBH. Either you miss out UBW and HF entirely (which leaves a whole load of stuff unexplained, many of the characters looking like generic "bad guys" with no backstory and results in them showing the weakest route) or you make a hodge-podge of the three routes, which turns into a mess because they simply can't be merged.

Well, if you count the movie (no matter how it turns out), then two routes have already been animated. Certainly not completely true to the original, but they've been animated. So the only one left is HF.

Isn't there talk of a possible HF anime? I can never remember if I heard that they're making it, or just that somebody would be willing to make it, or whatever.
I probably wouldn't watch it, but they still ought to make it for people who haven't/won't play the game. |

Most likely they'd follow the Realta Nua version (like they have with the other two routes), which cuts out the sex scenes and references to rape. I hope that they don't, though, because HF simply doesn't make sense without the sex and rape references, so I'd like to see them do what they did with the Tsukihime anime and fade to black when the sex scenes came up.

Well, you'd also need to think about what the anime would spend time developing. Half the reason I felt the FSN anime wasn't quite as good as it could have been was because it tried too hard to be a mix of all three routes, instead of simply focusing on the Fate route. Of course, granted, I still liked what they did when they tried it, but it might have helped the story flow better if they'd just stayed focused on one route.
