DEFINATELY one of the best animes of 2oo8, surely a eye opener. Great design, story, setting and opening/ending songs.
the 2nd half of the anime was rather crazy with that psycho woman in the lab (Though, it was rather exciting) =X A must-watch for those who haven't seen. |

Well, that was great. I also felt the 90's vibes, and the fact the story is set in 1990 adds to it. Don't know what to think of the plot yet though, will have to see more, but the part with the zombies was a bit too much, that came out of nowhere...

I've been waiting for this ever since I saw the trailer. It lived up to my expectations and then some. I was entertained throughout, though the plot is a bit confusing as of now. Absolutely fantastic performance by the voiceactors, I'm very much looking forward to the next episode.
Rin is one hell of a woman. She employed the "Solid Snake" method for snuffing out those lasers, great stuff. Funny how she triggered it anyway, though.

Sanctity of death
There is no way I can take a 'death' in this series seriously considering the protagonist's (and quite possibly others) mystical abilities combined with the introduction of clones. In other words one could continue life here both through supernatural and scientific means. There's just too much room here to allow characters to continually be reintroduced.
Spoiler for Episode 1:

but this series, well you can sense the quality, especially the scene in the M_____e , where she sat up and start pulling ______ then reach between her _____ i was now that was detailed, you can tell they are anal (no pun intended) about showing these little this as key animation frames. Made me wince in that part of the episode, never really got disturbed by a series this year, but i have to hand it to this one since higurashi/school days *shudder* i guess also it has to do with the seiyuu, she really does do a really sexy sultry voice that has a lot of emotion put into it. Voice actresses/actors i think have a lot professionalism when you focus on it, really wish the west think about this more, especially for blockbuster films because sometimes just grabbing a screen actor/actresses isn't the same as a professional who's voice is their solo means.

Hmmm... teh Mamiko, teh Rie, and Araara-ufufu... sounds like a keeper.
First episode was quite the attention grabber. Gruesome at times, but an intriguing setup. I thought it was awesome when Rin pulled out the blaster-knuckle thing. Looking forward for the coming episodes. |

Wow, I really haven't seen anything like this before. I must say I'm quite, pleasantly surprised with how the first episode played out. From this I can no longer judge whether the ability to die and come back to life is good or just plain sucks. I mean what happened near the end of this looked extremely painful.
Regardless of that, I really like how this anime progressed and how it presented itself, and I'm definitely looking forward to the next episode.
