I forget the episode number, but it was a ways back.
There was alot of touching drama around that event, some of my favorite
eps so far. The stuff with rentonXeureka is too melodramatic and superhuman.
rayXcharles were far too fatalistic. dominicXanemone is downright depressing.
TaruhoX Holland is the coolest relationship in the show, imo. I love the
way their relationship has evolved in this series, starting from the very first ep.
Her jeolousy, his on and off attentions, her past history with Dewey, his apathy
and fear of commitment, the fact that he was secretly lusting for eureka being the
reason he kept beating renton up. (i still think he's an ass for that) Theyve gone
through so much, and ended up together despite it all....

ZOMG! Dominic looks so terribly sexy there. This is the impetus I needed to go watch 43-46! I'll get on it stat... damn that's hot . And it definitely looks like Kenichi Yoshida's drawing (he's apparently been doing a lot of key animation for this final stretch)

But looking at the spoilers that you guys have written, I'm afraid my opinion of the show in general - at least of the story - isn't going to get better...

EDIT: Paiser - try this to look up on Bones. They're made up of people from Sunrise Studio 2 (I think some of them - like Seiichi Hashimoto - still flit between Sunrise and Bones, for shows like Planetes and Rean and so on) Some of the things Sunrise is credited with, was actually done by Bones that was being formed at that time (Escaflowne, Cowboy Bebop).

Wow I wasn't expecting that to happen. The whole thing was remarkably touching and a pretty cool development. Looks to me like Eureka's bone structure is similar to the Nirvash's core structure, but I may be wrong. I'm wondering what the complete transformation will look like.

I like the way Renton did not freak out at this transformation. Renton has matured so much over the show.

Also I wonder if whoever designed the interior of Type THEEND knew about the Coralian human's potential transformation; I mean the butterfly-like wings? A bit of coincidence me thinks...

Wow, this was the most boring crap ever. Nothing but talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and you get the idea. And what's with Adrock Thurston being in the episode if he doesn't say anything.

Mystery of the Scab Coral and how the Earth turned into what we see in Eureka Seven - SOLVED.

I thought it was rather interesting. What else did you expect? They had to talk about it to explain it.

And I thought the ending was very sweet and actually tied off more that one plot line...

Adrock didn't need to say anything. His scene with Renton was perfect without all the explanations and talks he had with Diane. The way Renton held his hand... awww...

I think the emotion was conveyed brilliantly.

For me that was one intense episode. A VERY important one as well. For the past 46 episodes, the entire Skarve Coralian thing, and why people are not "on Earth," and why is Eureka born, all very important questions to the series, were shrouded in mystery.

I mean, even when I didn't know the answer to the questions, I enjoyed the show immensely, based on all its merits that I don't need to explain anymore. But now that everything has been explained, I am able to appreciate the series, and past episodes at a higher level. I'm sure that everyone else will agree with me.

And the ending to this episode was very intense. It was something you'd expect that is coming, the moment before "the final battle." But it was good, nonetheless. 2 more episodes left, and I can't wait to see them.

Unfortunately I understood very little of this episode except what could be easily interpreted. I found the origins of the Scab Coral a little dissapointing, all a bit 'B-movie'. At least we know where Eureka gets her name from. However what impressed me immensely was...

Spoiler for ep.47:

...the reunion between Renton and Adrock. No angst. No words. Just a tender moment of genuine reconciliation.

In contrast the scenes with Diane were tense and eerie, I think there are still revelations to come about Diane.

However the most interesting thing for me was when Anemone's tear apparently tore into TypeZERO's 'flesh' and created (I think) a new eye? Am I right? If so that is a major indication of what could happen: Could we see emo Anemone merging with the TypeZERO to create some twisted hybrid as the ultimate adversary for TypeZERO?

So next episode Nirvash Vs rematch. It's a draw so far. My money's still on typeZERO...

This episode really tied up all the sub-plots, and erased nearly all the mystery.
Renton's neechan did seem eeriely preoccupied with merging humans into the skurve,
perhaps she wants company in ghost form...

So Eureka and Anemone are ambassadors of the will of the skurve, which wants humans
to be its companions and lovers. Its scary to think of a planet sized object being horny,
but there you have it. Dewey thinks he can kill the skurve, the good guys seem to think
his attempt will just piss it off and make it kill all humans.

So Eureka and Renton are off to stop Deweys nefarious plan, and Anemone will try to oppose them. Anemone is shedding some strange tears, perhaps she'll be our tragic ending character. Eureka has still not finished morphing out of her slimy green stage.

So the questions that remain are still long standing ones: Will Renton and Eureka ever do more than kiss? What are the consequences of their doing so- perhaps renton will gut turned into a skurve being- or alternatively eureka can get pregnant like the doctor said...

Hopefully the mech-suit fighting will be mercifully sweet, and allow the show to get back to more romantic progress without wasting too much time...

Yeah but like others have mentioned, it was a bit cheesy and ultimately not that interesting. I understand the need to tie up all the loose ends, but I would have preferred to have seen it done gradually instead of wasting an entire episode to just dump everything out on the table. And I didn't find those moments between Eureka/Renton and Adrock/Renton to be all that emotionally appealing. The build up to the reunion was so predictable and there just wasn't enough time to flesh it out.

Who else would tell us these things "gradually", if not Diane, who is part of the Scab Coral? Sakuya had a whole another purpose (to stimulate Eureka's relatonship with Renton). And there is noone else, who'd know these things. It was predictable only in a way that we all suspected that these mysteries would be resolved one way or the other.

I just don't see how else they could have done it "gradually". Who would tell the story? Sakuya? Norb? Greg Bear? None of them except Sakuya would know anything about it. Adrock reappeared in the same episode with Diane, and his purpose in the episode was completely different from Diane's (because his relationship with Renton and Eureka is different).

And anyway, Norb and Dr. Bear have been having these conversations about the Scab Coral for quite some time, so it was NOT all that much of a "dump", as you put it to be. Be fair, they did hint at what Diane said in earlier episodes.

I understand the Renton/Diane reunion was being built up the entire series, but I would have preferred a little bit more emotion on Diane's part. We saw Renton get emotional for about 30 seconds and then they go straight into asking and answering questions. I was very excited for the reunion after episode 46 but I guess I was just expecting something completely different.

After thinking about it, you're right. There probably wasn't any way for this information to come out gradually since Diane is probably the only one that knows all of this. I guess this is unfair of me to criticize since there really wouldn't be any other way to reveal it to the viewers.

I still stand by with my criticism of Eureka and Renton though. Please at least kiss. It's driving me crazy.

This is where I agree. I actually thought they are going to do it this time, but that doofus Renton kept hugging Eureka. She must have been thinking: "Come on, be a man, do it already!"

But the presense of nee-chan and dad must have spoiled the mood.
