I cannot miss a series with Cloud Strife in it
I have never seen a manga serialized so fast after the one-shot in WSJ. There is a slight change from the one-shot that matters in my opinion. In the one-shot she takes control of the body and in the first chapter she was more advising him. With the former I guess it would have been too close to Hikaru no Go, since we would have gotten two types of confrontations the ones between the ghost and the elite people and the ones between Kurogane and young kendo practitioners. Since there is a mask in kendo, it is still possible to do so. Sport manga is not my favorite genre, but I follow some of them and a series about kendo could be added to the list. The series is well executed so far, but I am waiting for a more complete cast to see if the series will be interesting. And I think it could survive if it is not too focused on the main hero. |

After reading the two chapters that are out... I'm probably going to follow this. Looks quite interesting, and I could use some good ole swordfighting (I probably should get back into Sengoku Armors too...)
My only concern: which series is going to be cut for this one to be regularly in? I hope Magico isn't...

That's... quite possible. I admit, I don't know every single series running in JUMP, but I had started on Sengoku Armors... and it wasn't all that appealing. Maybe Magico will survive after all... either way, a week (or less) until chapter 3, and I look forward to it

It's interesting... by taking away his physical power, we've essentially got a character that could be a practically invincible guy (or at least extremely badass) with his sight... I do hope that if this is a true battle manga, as we get around 100+ chapters, he'll have physical strength... but he'll meet others who also have insane talent in certain areas

So now 4 chapters in and still going good.
Really quite like the badass moments, they are drawn pretty well. Sayuri is proving to be pretty amusing in her chibi mode and awesome in her ghost mode hard to say who I like more Sayuri or Tsubame, both great in their own ways. I believe the captian is one of the guys shown on the colour page of chapter 1 so looks like we still got 2 more characters to be introduced, looking forward to that.

I spoke too early. She can control his body.
I did not expect this manga to be so popular. True, the badass moments are epic. They remind me of the ones in Eyeshield 21 when Sena displays his talents. If you add the Hikaru no Go-like badass moments, when people feel the overwhelming presence of Sai and the badass moments in combat (Bleach style), it can become... badass I liked the last trial in chapter 4, it is an exercice but it looks like some kind of ritual to me. Wonder if it actually exists. Waiting for the captain, but the current team members did not appeal to me. I already expect the "cocky" guy (don't know his name and how to qualify him) will go through the max efforts, but will lose his place among the five participating in the group competitions. I hope there will be other female members to balance the story. |
