Now that was a whole lot of fun. Treasure maps, spelunking, ancient booby traps, the stuff of pulp fiction and fist-pumping adventure. Plus, Perrine got some time in the spotlight, and her rapier made its in-show appearance. It wasn't used against the golem, but a rapier was, and that's good enough.

What everyone will be talking about, I expect, is that Mio is a mean drunk and gave Minna a magnificent kiss that will be in the minds of people to come for, say, a week or so.

Next week, Erica gets some focus time.

This episode was about building bridges and not just the physical sort. Perrine got out of it less tea-bitchy and a little more open to her compatriots at the bottom of the ladder. Also, we learn that she can't stand the destruction of infrastructure.

I get that these character episodes are geared towards making us care about a character more, but Perrine being sad about a little girl being sad that the other kids would be sad about not making it to school is kinda distant. What got me to care was Perrine potentially being the only one left in her family and mulling over having to sell off the last of her family's possessions to help out her country. In stories of riches to rags (to riches) the characters seem to always work to regain their family's nobility/wealth/entitlement to property, etc. Perrine seems ready to toss any remnant of that for a contracting job that'd take a few weeks tops. Or maybe fumes from the roadwork outside have gotten to me and I am over analyzing a fanservice anime. Either way, bravo Perrine, none of that prestige could buy a heart as big as yours. Well, it COULD buy a bridge...

So Minna had the end of the show to herself again :V I figured Mio would hit back a few with her officers back in Fuso, but to be that bad a drunk I doubt anybody at the base would. Except maybe Hijikata. With the discovery of the wine garden we now know who the bootleggers were in their hypothetical era of prohibition - witches.

I love drunk Mio

She's usually fairly serious so I thought her whole rampage was hilarious xD
I didn't care much for Perrine in the first season, but she's really grown on me in this one.

I didn't like Perrine much in the first season either, maybe it's because she was putting on the massive ojou-sama routine and not showing her true side, she's finally come out from just being the character that wants Sakamoto to someone who actually has a character of their own. Much like Luchinni really, she wasn't all that great in the first season.

For some reason, I don't remember much of Perrine except for the last smile even though it was supposed to be her episode... damn Mio Miina LOL
The great part was how Miina didn't stop Mio but accepted the kiss and fainted after

The quality was a little unstable though, which bothered me a little since it was a fun epi to watch.

AND FINALLY A HARTMANN EPISODE!!

I saw the preview for this episode and thought WTF?

Then I saw the episode and was like "Guess they finally did come up with a way to get Mio to act crazy" That rampage was awsome it is too bad though that it didnt involve more chasing by Mio. And I loved Hartmann's face when she thought she killed the Major. Kiss scene was Epic I cracked up at Barkhorn's reaction.

Best episode so far. Perrine centric + lots of humor + drunk Mio + lots more. The various characters expression like Mio sleeping drunk look and luchinni sarcastic remarks are really good.

This was set during the timeskip. At the present the girls attack a Neuroi out to damage a bridge being constructed. Perrine gets mad at it and finishes it off. She is congratulated by Mio but she doesn't have her usual swooning over her due to being depressed about back home on Galia. This is noted by Lucchini and Yeager. With her family rapier she asks her parents, who aren't there , what she should do. Miyafuji shows and Perrines pants are flying. She tells her tomorrow their going to the beach.... Which turns out to be dive training for Lynette, her and Miyafuji, with striker units. The rest enjoy the beach. Sanya and Eila sits there almost all episode. Lucchini finds a chest chained at the bottom of the sea, telling Perrine, Lynette and Miyafuji. Perrine thinking this is treasure suggest they go for it. They dive for it but the chest is chained consecutively Lucchini, Lynette and Miyafuji give up for air. Perrine doesn't give up and goes kemono-mimi-shippo mode to break the chain. The Lynette and Miyafuji get worried for her. Lucchini joking she may be fish food already. Perrine scares her with seaweed on her head , bringing the treasure chest. Perrine collapse from exhaustion and dreams the kids thanking her. She wakes up and finds Lucchini picking the treasure chest's lock. Perrine asserts her right over it as she brought it up. The chest opens only to reveal another chest... and another and another... Like those Russian dolls. Finding the last smallest one empty. Which depresses Lucchini and Perrine. Perrine tells her troubles. Miyafuji notices an odd noise in the last box and inspects it. Finding a treasure map. Perrine with the map leads the expedition to a sea cave. Only to hit a fork. They turn right. Meanwhile Minna and Mio notice they were missing and last seen near a cave entrance. With Yeager, Gertrud and Erica they form a search party. While Perrine almost felt to a snake pit. Minna and Mio's party hit hit the same fork in the cave, they turn left. They find ancient ruins of witches. They find a large fireplace with a jar on top. It falls on Mio. Minna shocked at the blood... Or is it? They take off the jar of a very drunk Mio. Mio then kisses Minna. Minna faints and Mio runs laughing like a mad woman. Gertrud asks Minna's orders as the situation becomes worse. Only Minna is out of commision from the Yuri shock. Mio scares the heck out of Perrine and the gang with her laughing in a web of interconnected caverns. Mio running circling them. Perrine and the gang finally finds the treasure room... With a big statue. Lucchini finds a rappier and plays fencing. This activates the golem. Lucchini throws the sword to Perrine with her witch powers defeat the golem. The door open to the treasure... A garden. No monetary gain sorry Perrine. Somehow Mio got there before her waking up sober. Yeager, Gertrud and Erica, carrying an unconscious Minna, find Lynnette and Miyafuji. Perrine is still depressed but gets a letter from Galia that a bridge for the school kids to cross has been built. Sanya and Eila get a tanned much to their annoyance and embarrassment. They sat on the beach for the entire episode. Mio then asks where Minna is. Minna is at the beach at night just sitting there because of the stolen kiss.

Most of all, you have to be disciplined and you have to save, even if you hate our current financial system. Because if you don't save, then you're guaranteed to end up with nothing.
