Besides Rachel, Bang and Nu, I didn't really get the other characters lol

I didn't get Tager's Gaogaigar scheme

But LOL at Tao, she's the true joke character of the game. Not sure why people think Rider Bang is the joke character, he's just the a homage to all the hotblooded passion displayed by heroes of justice.

Talking about Nu being broken, I still can't beat her in Hell difficulty with Rachel.

Because Bangs one of the weakest characters in the game and his power up super puts Dan Hibiki's supers to shame.

The ever changing tier list updates on Dustloop is now:

S: Nu, Rachel, Arakune
A: Jin, Noel, Carl
B: Ragna, Taokaka, Litchi, Bang
C: Tager, Hakumen

Bang's FU RIN KA ZAAAAAAAN!!!! is awesome.

Let see how many of those people manage to identify here. Ragna's new colours does hide an interesting trivial.
Arakune got the same color scheme as Lilith from Evangelion?

Eh that updated tier list bumped Noel up a lot 2 spots over Carl and Ragna, apart from that Tager went over Hakuman.

This tier list doesn't seem to have horizontal ranking though.

Especially B tier, which the poster simply said everyone is tied there.

Not sure which skillful Japanese player brought Noel's rank up as well. But they're saying 'Buppa' a great Jin player, raised Jin's ranking.

EDIT: I mean B tier.

I was thinking Pikachu at one point, but some of the colorations in certain areas seemed a bit off(like the eyes and face), but now looking at it again it makes sense if its a Pikachu color scheme.

I don't think so, considering Lilith's face is purple, not red. It's most likely a Japanese flag reference.

So we got...

Arakune - Japan flag
Bang - Strider Hiryu
Litchi - Morrigan
Rachel - Hatsune Miku
Tager - GaoGaiGar
Noel - Seras Victoria
Nu - Gundam
Jin - Probably Ky Kiske
Ragna - Gintoki
Carl - Probably Detective Conan
Tao - Maybe Pikachu
Hakumen - Not quite sure yet, but maybe Sephiroth

Doesn't the console version have changes from the ARC version?

If so, arguing about tier lists or taking them seriously will be futile for a few months.

Whoo, finally got a chance to start playing it for the first time yesterday...

It's actually a lot of fun! I can see myself playing this for a good long time to come, and I actually have the drive to get better with characters. As of right now I'm dead set on making Rachel my main. Yeah... it was way beyond a bad idea to choose Rachel first for a newbie like me, but her fighting style and more defensive/setting up play really interests me. After a few matches where I got my ass handed to me online (player matches though, like most others... I won't be touching ranked matches), I finally got the feel for how to utilize her wind and magical attacks successfully. I can pull off a few good combos at least, but I'm still rusty on some of the game mechanics and strategies and such. Anyone who has the 360 version, I'd love to play with you anytime... the more real life practice I get the better! All in good fun though, doesn't matter if I win or lose.

A lot of other characters interest me too, but I won't be touching them until I got Rachel down. Taokaka and Arukane.

On a seperate note, I went ahead and purchased the Color Change DLC too if for nothing more than to play as Rachel Hatsune.

Also touched a bit on story mode, and Ragna's story ended in a weird way with only 38%. I've heard you're supposed to finish matches with DDs, but does this mean all the matches or just specific matches? Are there other crazy conditions and whatnot?

Well the game arrived this morning. The first few seconds of the first match i played, years of Guilty Gear gaming appeared in my hands yet again. No surprise how quickly i picked this one up from the get go. Gave most of the characters a good play with, though haven't decided on my favorite just yet.

Will do a few friendly matches in anyone's up for it at the end of the week.

The % is base on the total amount of conversations you've see per the persons story line. As there are multiple paths as well as conversations for when you lose... so not only do you have to do every path but you have to lose to every character at least once as well.

honestly just use the game FAQ guides that are out there more in depth about it then i am.

I finally had the time to play the game (even thought I got it yesterday). Trying all the characters and testing some of their basic combos, so far the ones I feel more comfortable with are Noel and Taokaka. I prefer Noel over Taokaka at the moment, mostly because while I do love Tao's mobility I hate the fact that her damage is sooo weak. But I guess I'll keep playing with both and trying to learn combos for both, having an alternate character is never a bad thing.

For you guys using arcade sticks, which specific arcade stick are you using and how is it? My thumb hurts from playing just a few hours of this, so I should consider getting an arcade stick...

I have Virtua Stick High Grade, it's been two years since I bought it import from Japan (at a bargain price) and it's awesome. It's also full Sanwa parts.

Urk, I was wondering who Ragna was supposed to be. It makes so much sense now; I can't believe I didn't realize it before.

The SFIV TE if you have the cash to burn. If not the HRAP. If you are really low on the greenbacks, the Hori Fighting Sticks will just have to make do.
