HA! Even Kurotsuchi and Hiraku agree that those four were stupid in using their bankai like that xD

But really the stupidest of them all is Renji...the guy just took you're Captain's bankai easily and your great plan is to use your own!?

I'm going to try to get inside kubo's mind about this mess of a plan. i think it is actually as simple as this: which captains' bankai is everyone tired of seeing? well, byakuya and hitsugaya for sure. komomara's was never that good to begin with and soi fon's just sucked... so i think i'll just 86 them at the start of the fight so we can get to the fancy new ones faster

also, what if the stern ritters can only absorb 1 bankai at a time. which means kyouraku could fight any of the 5 with bankais with his bankai ~just a thought

Too bad Ichigo's bankai couldn't be stolen. He'd be totally useless then. Wonder how that fight is going. Maybe we can have a battle skip and have Ichigo give a total beat down and come to SS.

So releasing Bankai is secure, as long as they aren't taking a new unused of those things into their hands.

Seems like a big risk though. Because at this point, all they can do assume. In the worst scenario's, these Quincies could either have multiple bankai stealing devices on them (as you alluded to) or they can use the same device to steal multiple bankai's. And if Kubo's really feeling creative, he can take it a step further by allowing these Quincy's to merge stolen bankai's to produce some very unique results. For instance, imagine stealing Komamura and Soifon's bankai to create a giant armored samurai with a sword in one hand and a bazooka in the other. Or imagine Hihiō Zabimaru being able to split or break any part of its body into Senbonzakura's flower petal blades. Although, I don't honestly think Kubo will go this far with the whole bankai stealing thing.

It would be less of a risk if they actually organized themselves a bit... namely they could find out that answer by sacrificing no more than 2 bankai's. one to confirm how they steal it and a second to see if they can steal it a second time... Unfortunately they were morons; they needlessly lost several bankai's and haven't confirmed that other important tactical detail.

One more thing worth adding is that according to Kubo back in the "Repeat & Reboot" omakes a few months ago, Renji's bankai has supposedly already changed. So I'm expecting Renji to have discovered a few new tricks with Zabimaru over the course of the timeskip. It might be one reason why Kubo's making Renji hold out on us right now.

To be fair, the idea behind using Bankai wasn't entirely horrible, the stupid part was that four people sacrificed their Bankai unnecessarily.

Should have left the job to Komamura.

from the way ichigo is drawn and the absence of any quotes on it like there usually is, I'm sure that the Grimmjow, Ichigo, Uryuu pic WAS fanart. The only 'color' page this chapter was the 'March fo the Starcross 2' which just took a panel froma few chapters ago and added red and gray outlines if I'm not mistaken

Anyways, didn't Byakuya tell Renji last chapter to use his bankai if anything went wrong? That's exactly what Renji was doing...so if anything, Byakuya is the one at fault. Good to see the mass communication Kido come back, but a bit too late =/.

Old man with a gun vs Kyoraku is badass but he looks generic enough to be killed off. Seems the only Quincy that will actually survive (if any die at all mind you), will be the loli, the guy with the hood and scar, buckbeard (we still calling the leader that?) and that white haired byakuya dude. The others seemed expendable enough in character design to not be around too long, although i DO want to see that Luchadore come back and join the fight against Byakuya and Renji--hope he doesn't get forgotten like Gantenbein from Hueco Mundo...

Actually, you people are not quite right about Soifon's bankai here.
And it was totally stupid for her to lose it like that, because she's the only one who can actually use her bankai under current conditions - just do it in "unhonorary" way from long distance. (unless there's someone else with Long Range bankai) And then move in with shikai against a weakened opponent (if it won't die from that kind of blast).

I somehow doubt those Quincies can steal bankais from a mile away, especially if they don't know what's coming. Basically, her bankai is ideal in the situation they found themselves in.
