Well that was announced a while ago we just didn't know what system. Anyway...am i the only one getting tales vibes from this purely because of that long as hell RPG tagline?

So now i'm not on my mobile anymore I can give informations.

Those are spoils and comparison to the LN, it's better to not read if you want to fully enjoy the show

Spoiler for Episode 1:

Episode follows the LN, as such we have Klein and Kirito's friendship begin, how Klein got his ass wiped by a boar, Akihiko arrival, first episode is mostly funny, since Klein can only spout no sense.

The emotions of the characters are pretty well made, despair on Cecillia's face when she realize she can't leave SAO anymore was pretty exciting, hmm same for Kirito when he refuses Klein proposal to join his guild, the sadness was pretty well done.

Skills are well made in term of animation and the name aren't shouted

Spoiler for Episode 2:

Spin off "First day" wasn't adapted, instead we go right away two months later to begin with the spin off Aria in starless sky ... which was literally overwritten, as such Kirito doesn't save Asuna but meets her in the reunion to kill the first boss, hence the part where she baths at his house etc isn't show. Argot the rat or who knows her name, the hate towards Beater simply don't even exist.

About the name spell, only "switch" is shout.

Nonetheless, my first impression after some reflection is, that there is real will to make SAO a kiddy show, death was simply never showed so far, in the boss fight against Kobold Chief, normally there are dead people, but there Kirito and Asuna simply wipe it out with double attack, nobody dies, everybody is happy, humans are great, they can cooperate each other while normally beta tester are literally hunted. Well in the first part at least.

Still great, as I said before, music and animation are at the level god tier.

I'm really sad if they're locking up all the negative sides to humans in the anime. What made the novels brilliant was the emphasis that people could, would, and did die in the game. The Black Cats guild leader's suicide is in the trailer, so we're guaranteed at least one death.

Man, oh man. PV #2 is so awesome; those gorgeous vistas, those exhilarating action scenes, that surprisingly good sounding OP, and of course, that Asuna ~ <3

PSP only? Eugh, I was hoping it’d for both the PSP and the PS3 or the PSV and the PS3. Meh. I really regret getting rid of my PSP now.

I find it quite worrisome that there's will to make SAO a "kiddy" show; they'd have to remove a lot of what makes SAO what it is to do so. Perhaps this will change in the next few episodes?

And it's good to hear that the names of the skills aren't shouted out.

taking vita specs into consideration, so making a full fledged game for it wouldnt be much cheaper than to make one for consoles, and the selling prices of portable games are usually lower(though the COD is venturing into the 50 dollar price) and since developing games for psp is very cheap japanese developers stick to this since its low cost high revenue, a good and sad example of this is that hideo kojima stated his plans for peace walker were to make it for consoles and pretty much label it 5 but konami twisted his arm.

The character designs look similar to Gurren Lagann's style to me. A few of those closeups on Kirito while he was fighting reminded me of Simon.

i migth be mistaken, but i think i read somewhere some ex animator from gainax now work as free lancers and are linked to some A1 projects, so its possible to find similarities.

Well, SAO isn't all that dark a tale, but the darker side is essential to the story; based on the PVs we've seen, I think it's safe to say that the anime adaptation will retain some of it's darker side. I guess that means that the chance of seeing Chapter 16.5 get animated is very low (even as a standalone OVA). Ah well. :<

Was at the Paris screening too,I want to insist that the french staff really really insisted on the the fact that while episode 1 was "nearly finished" the 10 minutes we saw of episode 2 were far from a final edit and that the episode itself might end up quite different.

I enjoyed it a lot more than accel world,great fight scenes so far,gorgeous backrounds as well.
While Kajiura is doing the OST it's much closer to her fate/zero OST rather than her .hack OST

edit:Oh and supposedly A-1 has 5 studios now (the staff seemed 100% sure of that) and we were told SAO is being done at the studio that did Idolm@ster (he wouldn't say 100% sure though )

i had believe that this will be my favorite of the summer, but now after seeing that PV I KNOW I WILL LOVE THIS.

music is great, art work look good and action scenes look better than accel world.

That's an intriguing piece of information. I wonder if there'll be any effort to include some of the things that were left out to make the show not as dark? Well, I can hope. :>

No death scenes would be a serious bummer. Also, the other beta tester, cant remember his name, diabel i think, dies in the boss battle
