Because it's a fragmented memory of Casshern's. He's not remembering the full true thing because he's traumatized. Think of him as having PTSD and is slowly going thru a recovery stage. As he recovers, we'll see the true event.

Yep i know. That's why we have these scenes at the beginning (which i mentioned a good while back, after the first episode aired).

Apparently Friender was Casshern's companion in the original so I really hope he stays too I love robot dogs. And Casshern needs someone to stay with him that lasts.

On another note I loved the simplicity of this shot in the 3rd episode.

Yeah, I know, but in the original Friender used to be Casshern's pet that just became a robot like he did. So they were already companions way before Casshern's robot fighting adventures. The modern remake changed that though, but I'm glad they ended up as companions in episode 3. Oh I really hope it stays that way xD I love dogs in general, hehe.

I concur. When I saw that in the episode, I couldn't help but sigh a little bit. This series, if it's anything, is beautiful.

Haha, you're right Not only are the robots so close to humans, but the robotic pets are close to real animals as well xD

Episode 4 is out...

Spoiler for ep. 4:

...and just for a change of pace, this week's new character Sophita doesn't die. In fact, surprisingly enough, there are no innocent victims at all this episode - the "Angel of Destruction" turns out to be quite a polite sort of girl, who won't slice up someone who declines her invitation to fight (she makes an exception for Casshern at the end, but only after realising that long life has become a burden to him).

This episode's softer touch even extends to the battles - some of the enemies actually decide they've had enough for the day and are allowed to withdraw in one piece.

Next week we're back to Lyuze and Ringo, so hopefully the plot will start to kick in.

I like the new girl. I hope she had been part of the main cast or at least become a recurring character xD So main plot starts next episode with Lyuze and Ringo maing a comeback . . . but I honestly don't wanna see Ringo again Gimme Luna instead! Or Dio!!!! At least Friender's there, but still!!! Aaaaahhh!!!

Some bits concerning episode 04.

The scene before the OP, all i can say for now is that it's not apart of the first scene we seen in episodes one and two, basically because Casshern did not have blood on his face. We didn't see his face in the second scene, so it could very well be a follow up shot after that.

I like Sophita, i actually like her a lot. Her awesome character design plays quite a huge part in that, and i'm really looking forward to seeing that they'll do with her character in the future. It's very high that she'll fight along side Casshern at a later point.

Hard to say what's going to happen next episode going by the preview, though i do like to keep the episode title in mind. I really do wonder about Frienders scene in the preview --- the whole 'view from the eye' makes you think Casshern and Friender aren't on the same side.

Sophita was the only reason I'm not complaining about the lack of Friender . Overall, I liked this episode, it had a far happier ending than the last 3 for our lovable white head (actually, did Casshern wear his helmet at all?)

I don't think Friender has forgiven Casshern yet after what he had done. But from the looks of things, Lyuze is about to reavle more things about what happned.
