Nope, she's already kuudere... on the outside. Remember most of the POV is from her side, therefore the monologue is blatant brocon. Meanwhile, in Ichika's monologue, she's always been cool and prideful. (calling him Ichika)

This is inverted after chapter 4, where she's shown to be less cool and more like "silent and spoiled", and began to add -nii honorific again like when they're little.

But of course, that's only the Watsonian (in-universe) explanation. Out of universe, that's a case of Characterization Marches on.

As for male I.S. pilot or something equivalent... anyone that is neither A. God Mode Sue, B. Stealing the spotlight (except if he is main character) and C. Stealing the harem from Ichika (for no clear reason) is considered safe.

And before you ask/complain, Irish is safe, because Tatenashi is still mostly platonic with Ichika as of V7 cliffhanger.

@ Senpai - Why did she not call him Ichiki-nii before? I don't really get the reason.

Side note - Actually, she says she likes flirting with him.....too bad we'll never find out

On a side note, he seems to get a crush on Kanzashi rather than her:/

To keep her cool facade of course. As Ichika put it, If Chifuyu has a near-indestructible tungsten mask, then Madoka is tungsten covered chocolate, once it cracks, it'll melt. So he is not bothered by the change of treatment.

Side note - If someone oblivious to love and they get a crush on someone, how would they act differently? Need to get a scenario for Irish and Kanzashi.

I thought there's hint about his less than wholesome feeling in chapter 5 and 8. But Ichika took it as sexual urges than romantic feelings. The real romance blossom after Laura saga (lol).

He will be confused to act apparently. For example, Irish hesitate to act like a jerk compared to when everything is neutral between them. He's easily crack (read: upset or flustered) compared to the past.

Not really "the hell" considering that he regarded it as disgusting as you are now, and he (justifiably) blames on his hormone. Ichika is nothing less than asexual before entering I.S.A, canon or fanon. But of course "If it's you it's okay" will follow later...

Nope, but he noted he never felt uneasiness or attraction back when in middle school. In contrast to now, he is enchanted by the pretty girls and finds it unsettling. He always thought "I'm a healthy male after all" or something like that.
