Similar Sounding Tunes?

I found this very interesting, but I was listening to the Hack Dusk OST and noticed that track #6, "You want to raise me right" sounds very similar to "Sexiness" from the Naruto sound track. I've also seen this with other songs coming from anime. It doesn't seem to happen too terribly often, but I have noticed a number of occurences. Anyone else notice this?

Well, music that express a certain theme all have some commonality. Like the example you mentioned above, a saxophone usually seems to be the instrument of choice when you want to convey sexiness. Just like how 70's guitar music seems to be synonymous with porno films.

It's well known that it's almost impossible to be totally original in your music. Everyone was influenced by something. If you just listen to what popular American bands put out...

Oh, I thought popular american bands went dumpster diving for their music? Cause it sure sounds like it. Of course we have the RIAA to blame for that. Be thankful you guys don't have it in your countries if you don't live in the US. IF you do live in the US, I know you totally understand what I'm talking about.

Probubly why I love stuff from Japan and Europe so much. At least the majority of that stuff is original.

Some of the JPop sounds really repetitive too. Listen to some more and you'll realize it ^^;

The ending of FMP2~Fumoffu and the song done by Michelle Branch w/ Santana. They kinda sound similar even the guitar solos of Santana.
