Ipod touch help (mp4 conversion/wifi)

Bought my first Ipod ever today and it's a touch. I downloaded 3gp converter and basically when I try and drag a file (avi file) onto the converter it wont let me :/ so I ask is there any other FREE programs which convert files to mp4? I need one which can convert files without a limit but if someone can help me fix my 3gp problem it would be appreciated.

And for the Internet use on it do I need a wireless network? Because my internet is all set up through cords/router

Despite the name, it does more than just Xvid and also has profiles for Ipod and various other devices. You can encode in Xvid and h.264. You can customize bitrate and various other things. Very user friendly imo.

Yes, to use the internet on the iPod Touch you will need a wireless network if your router does not already support wireless.
