Being a veteran fan of the previous series, I'm glad to see some familiar faces returning in the fourth episode.

Aw, just hearing Godos' thoughts made me to sink again that Guts' road is a settled trainwreck to burn himself and Griffith to the very end, but, still, his resolve to walk his own path to war that's his alone.

Following the incident at the border, whenever I see those zealot, fanatical priest characters I always tend to think the European Dark Ages where the climax of unbound religious lunacy.

But, its been through ages up to modern day, which one amongst humankinds' most blundering errors was not opening religion to everyone and instead militarize it of sorts.

I believe in terms of history the trainwreck with religious fervor and fear of Inquisitions happened with the widespread conversion from polytheism to monotheism, and the monopoly of the Church over the masses in terms of political, economic, and social strata.

But, seriously, I do not know who were worst the Priest killing and issuing the public executions? or some of the people becoming f***ed-up in their minds watching with morbid pleasure the torture?

BTW, glad that Casca's skin got fixed, but I'm also wondering along with the rest how come she managed to survive by herself since she's branded like Guts and not forgetting her mind's a jumbled mess?

In fact, I thought Casca got herself taken or kidnapped by either knights or slave traders, but from what I understood in the episode she walked away from Erica's sight, became lost, and ended up wandering somewhere in the Midland border on foot.

Next episode will probably answer my question!
Yeah, you'll get your answer very quickly, but this reminded of one thing; the anime cuts the part that explains why Godo's place was safe from evil spirits, whereas it does

Niice episode (5). The world feels more and more gloomy and hopeless. I liked how they portrayed the tower of conviction and the refiugee camps. The scene with caska and nina at the river was very effective. It gave off a strong feeling of pending doom.

Its amazing how fast Lucas character is established. That line about pillowtalk said all.

The animation was a bit distracting, but no real issues there. Having 2D and 3D characters in the same shot takes some getting used to.
Did anyone else notice the shaky camera? The framing seemed a bit off at times, e.g. when Nina picked up a rock at the stoning. Looked like a video game cutscene.

I don't know if the show is getting better or if I'm simply getting used to it, but I found episode 5 pretty nice. The Susumu Hirasawa song was hype.

Episode 6

Now I get why this week's episode mentions about another eclipse feast that was similar to the one in the past (although nowhere near of that magnitude) Also glad to see the Skull Knight again, it's been a long damn time.

They're moving at way too fast a pace for certain scenes, making it confusing. They've cut out a decent amount of dialogue, which also makes certain scenes confusing like Skull Knight's convo with Guts (why is the brand of some assistance? Why does a God Hand member need to incarnate? Why does Puck react so painfully and why does he say Guts feel joy? BTW, it's not just joy, it's a mixture of other intense feelings), as well as removing a degree of characterisation from characters like Mozgus. Crunchyroll's translations aren't helping either (for example, it's not karma, it's causality).

The time spent on Luca spanking the shit out of Nina, Mozgus slamming his face on the ground and Casca reliving her trauma (none of those scenes were that long originally) was time they could've spent adding the rest of Skull Knight's dialogue, plus some more. As a result, this episode was rushed and very, very confusing. Not a good episode.

Composer does.

How do people expect someone to know the track's name when the OST is yet to be released?

If Ninjastarforce's talking about the music that plays when previews come up, it's called Hai Yo (was announced as an insert song before the anime aired).

I think it's the latter. The material's strength is still coming through despite the cancer.

The 3d animation was weirding me out at first, but for the sake of seeing the dragonslayer swing so fluidly while everything is its path is obliterated is totally worth it. I've gotten used to it and tbh I think it does have some artistic merit.

I cant believe they manage to make the animation worse. The story is going pretty well considering the source material. But damn is all visually ugly.

Dickless man is dickless, and Skull Knight is as awesome as always whenever he's on screen.

So Casca has some sort of spell that protects her from the demons. Was the Skull guy that did that to her? Can't think of someone else...

Spoiler for Possible future anime spoilers:
That's correct. That's something that should have been explained ages ago (end of the third movie) and they cut out. Perhaps they'll explain it later. I guess I can think of one opportunity for Guts to have a flashback.

Guts' reunion with Casca is badass this week. About time.

Also, I got some respect for that Isidro now. He's got some guts in him (no pun intended).
