It's in development limbo

It was scheduled for 2010, then delayed to spring 2011, then delayed to indefinite time release

You can however, play the original DVD game if you want to. It's around 20 US dollars if you want to buy it

Wow, they used the animation style from the anime. Pretty smart. I thought it was just another straight port =02.

Whoa, I had no idea they were doing a remake for Phantom on the Xbox...it definitely deserves one. Hell, they could even make a 3rd person shooter out of it, lol.

Extremely unlikely. AFAIK, JAST USA currently has exclusive rights to publish localized Nitro+ visual novels. They acquired them in July 2009 and have since released exactly one Nitro+ visual novel (Demonbane). They have not announced any plans to localize the new Phantom, so even if it were announced tomorrow it would take at least several years until release.
(The original Hirameki localization was released in 2005, before JAST got the Nitro+ deal.)

Even if there weren't licensing complications, the odds of any visual novel being officially localized is extremely small. We only get a very tiny fraction of the visual novels released in Japan, even if you include fan translations (of which there are many more than official localizations).

I recommend against playing Hirameki's DVD game version. It has many flaws, among which the extremely inconvenient DVD-PG format (it's autoplaying as if you were watching a gameplay video, which also means you have no 'skip read' or backlog functions), no saves (at specific points you get passwords you have to write down; you can't just quit at any point like you can in a VN), the terrible translation...basically, it's a huge pain to read.

The graphics from the original version are very outdated and not at all fit for a commercial release.

A high-profile company like Nitro+ can't release something looking like that in this day and age.
