I really liked this movie, expecially kono. Very simple as plot but effective, expecially the orwell background.

Just finished watching this film out of curiosity. Plenty of knife kills to keep the COD fanboys happy, and it's neat having an anti-hero like Kono, who in some respects reminds me of a moe version of Hannibal Lecter. However, her habit of waiting for an opportunity to strike while people are getting beat up is probably not a good thing in most respects.

Kono was interesting. Reminded me of the protagonist of "I am not a serial killer". Mio had brains, Myao had brawn and skills... but it's Kono who won the fights through sheer ruthlessness.

It was strongly implied. We saw him unbuttoning her shirt, Kono started crying, and then the camera switched to a shot of the moon. When we got back to them, Kono had not only stopped crying but she remained expressionless while she listened to the guy's apologies. Something obviously happened for her behavior to change so radically. She seemed like a normal girl before.

A few questions though: Spoiler: As awesome as she is, there's not a lot in the film about how Kono ended up being a shanking sociopath, apart from inheriting her blade from a would-be attacker. I presume Kono put that particular guy out of his misery? Kono must have had some prior dealings with the SVC in order to have taken her bloody course of action against them. However, the film does not disclose any of this. Does the novel give any insight, or have I missed something in the film entirely that answers this one? Was not surprised to see Tsuzuki survive, since it appears there was only one grenade, and presumably a lot of places in her room to take cover. Is Tsuzuki's robot suit in the novel, or is it just there for randomness? Found it kinda ironic when Tsuzuki says that the suit could survive a car hitting it, only for her to get body-slammed out of it.
