Point being he's a backstabber. We have no clue who he's actually crossing at this point

. Though you're right, if the spoilers show the outcome being he stabbed Seria, that would most likely be the lie to trick some other party now that I think about it.

If that's the case that means Touma was manipulated yet again for someone else goal. I hope Touma can one day fully overcome being manipulated.

unfortunately around Touma exist only professionals in the art of manipulating others, seriously, he would need to read the minds of people to be able to escape it, although improving, as seen with the bird, but it is complicated.
