You should ask guys who are subbing ancient anime hehe (CLASSIC ANIME)
Ring ni Kakero / 1977 - 1981..Is an old anime, maybe if you got the raws for them they might start more quickly :P

I think think he's talking about the new Ring ni Kakero series that's starting on October 6th.

Any Fansub group planning on doing Ring ni Kakero?

It's an EXCELLENT manga by Kuramada (who wrote BT'X and Saint Seiya), the first in the boxing genre, and will soon be anime. Curious if any groups are interested

Actually, I think Ashita no Joe takes the "King of Boxing Manga" trophy. However, I do love RingKake and think it's a wonderful series. Even though it's taken about 25 years, I'm glad to finally see it get animation treatment. It's not the most realistic manga around, but it's good regardless...

Was Ashita no Joe ever licensed in the US?
I've always wanted to see that show, or at least take a look at the comic.

Oh, and I'll be releasing scripts (.srt files) in October if no one pics Ring ni Kakero up. I'll just need someone to supply me with a raw on the day it airs.

Nope, Ashita no Joe was never licenced... Ashita no Joe the movie, and part of Ashita no Joe 2 has been subbed.

As for the first, I'm in a new group working on it, but... well we're having issues, I sent you a PM.

Just in reply, I'm doing scripts only, don't want to translate for any group. Plus, technically, my subs aren't always accurate enough to be put in hardsubs. I'd much rather release scripts and have notes pointing out areas where I think I got it wrong.

But if you could get my raws, I'll love you forever, or at the very least hold affection for you until the project is over.

Thanks to this upcoming series Kuramada and Toie have delayed the continuation of the Saint Seiya Hades OVA... At the moment nobody knows when they are going to continue with Hades...

Oh well, as for now all that we have is only 13 episodes.

I guess Toei took advantage of Kurumada's good reputation to create this anime, since all of his fans around the world would watch everything that he makes...

Including me...

PLZ Toei don't forget about SS

Actually, I think Toei is taking advantage of the fact that Ring ni Kakero is one of the most popular series he's ever created and deserves an anime. I am also a Saint Seiya fan, but you have to remember it's not the only good thing he's ever done.

That didn't really make sense...

if you want the RAW, it's at that other torrents for anime site.
if you wanna know what a RAW is, it's just an episode in it's original form, without subtitles.

Ring ni Kakero aired on Japan last week! (First impressions)

The first episode of Masamy Kurumada's longest manga work has already aired this last Wednesday. I have brought you the raw of this first episode hoping to see what you think about.

In my personal point of view, this first episode was quite disappointing. It reminded my of Saint Seiya the whole time when it is supposed to be an anime about boxing...

So is the "MARVELOUS" anime for which our beloved Saint Seiya Hades was postponed? I hope that TOEI and Kurumada do a good thing with this anime because there is a lot of pressure from the side of all saint seiya fans.

When will TOEI understand that Saint Seiya is their gold mine?

Here are some funny things that I found about this anime:

Similarities:

Spoiler:

TOEI has decided to make this anime 13 ovas to start. If the anime does well it will be continued. Its lenght would be more than 89 episodes.

The future of Saint Seiya Hades depends on these 13 episodes.

could a mod change the topic title to Ring ni kakero, not karero?

also, i'm starting to question whether or not this shall be subbed.

I haven't lost hope yet, it's only been a week since it aired.

Ep 2 aired BTW
