Are they expecting the responce from US bases in Japan? Because I'm fairly certain we still have some there. Or from the Japanese themselves, come to think of it.
Also a plan the seems to depend on taking a hundred thousand hostiges. Probably to keep the US government from striking back. No word on nuclear weapon use, unless that's their solution to the US 7th Fleet, but if they take out the 7th Fleet, they are going to also have to deal withthe 3rd Fleet from Hawaii. Though that would be several days later. Plus the Air Force bomber wings are not going to be pleasent about it.

Just trying to make sense of their plan. It seems to revolve around keeping the Americans from reacting before the South Korean civilians give up due to shortages and enemies. Sieges tend to take more than three days on the nation wide level.

3rd Fleet would be da first to respond, along with what's at Okinawa, and the Air Force and Navy did have a few fighters based in Japan. Lets not forget the Japanese Air Self Defense Force, damn good flyers they got!
Plus the bases in S.Korea are probably on stand-by and both DOD and CIA are monitoring this as we speak. Kinda reminds me if the old Cold War days with then rattle in their sabers and us doin the same. The Japanese will respond if attacked directly, and might join with S. Korean and American forces if there is an invasion, they did deploy to Astan and got some "hands-on" there. It's a wait and see situation right now. |

Speaking of propaganda videos or videos with a clear warning purpose, that reminds me of the time when the US tested with a GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB) bomb just 8 days before the Iraq War started. I remember that it was quite the perfect chilly notice for any opposition force ahead.
As a way to respond to North Korea's threats, it would be a good idea for the Pentagon to conduct a more recent test of the MOAB (IF possible) and send the video footage of what it can do to structures sitting within the blast radius on all their media channels (hackers, please apply).
