Piano Girl - OSTER Project, Hatsune Miku
For those who are blanked-face at the terms used, let me explain 1. Czerny - Carl Czerny, Austrian pianist from the Romantic Period (1815-1910). He is known for his Etudes. 2. Chopin - Fredrick Chopin, Polish pianist/composer, also from the Romantic period. The first set of instrumentals played in the video is his Etude 25-9, composed in 1832, the first 16 bars at 137bpm instead of the designated (in the original score) at 112bpm. 3. Invention - A mini piano piece with a 2 part counterpoint. Counterpoints are notes that are independent from each other, but sound harmonious as a whole. Etude 25-9 is full of them (counterpoints). 4. Scales - A set of notes in ascending order, usually played for practice. 5. Blue note - A single note down from the note that is actually to be played on a major scale. For example, a G blue note will be a F-sharp, and a B blue note will be a B-flat. It is related to the genre of music blues. 6. Broken code - Supposed to be Broken Chords. Engrish! Chords that are played in sequence, for example, a 7th chord of C Major will be played C - E - G - B in sequence. 7. Barnum - A pianist in the 1960s. Didn't study him at all back when I was younger. 8. Hanon - The guy who came up with a set of 60 piano exercises to train the fingers, something like a mixture of scales to "familiarise" the finger movements. Consider him the creator of piano technique drills. I hate him for making my younger days of music lessons hell. 30 minutes of Hanon each session, followed by a set of etudes for 15 minutes made my fingers sore. 9. Bayer - Never heard of him. 10. Etuden - Etude, French for study. Used in music to term a musical composition for training playing techniques. Abused by composer Franz Lizst (Hungary, Romantic) to create the Transcendental Etude No. 2, a horror piece hated by advanced level musicians (Grade 7, 8, Dip, Adv Dip).
