The development of Keima's character is way too fast in the anime :S
For a split second i was like "Apollo?!??" but then i remembered the same scene from the manga, no surprise afterall, that the Anime might go a different route, with an ending, we can't already see. Those who get it, get it, those who don't, don't D: |

I wonder if they're milking Kanon's idol role for war funds to go past the second cour. That being said, I think they did a great job doing the end of Kanon's route even though so much of it was just singing.

I don't like how they're making Keima flusted when girls get near him, he's not supposed to care about the 3d world yet hes blushing. X.x just a point that has been bugging the hell out of me. Like it when hes just detached unless its part of the capture.
But KANON <3 I can't wait to get the shining stars songs <3 just need to figure out a way to get them though hmmmmm

I think Keima's character's a bit tricky to adapt in anime form... I mean I also feel he's cooler in the manga, all detached and in-control and all, but on the other hand, he must appear pretty sincere to the girls.
With a still, silent image in a manga the reader can at the same time understand that he just wants to get the job done and isn't really embarrassed, but is still acting convincing to the girl. In the anime however, if he didn't act convincing, the viewer would wonder how all the girls are falling in love with someone who seems so cold (especially considering the premise-- gal gamer tackles real girls with great success-- is pretty far out to begin with). I do prefer his manga portrayal but I think the anime staff had a tough character to work with. :\ Oh yeah. This episode. Concert was a bit long, but cool. I liked Kanon's first song. Also I had the same reaction as LeaD36 at that one scene with Kanon...

Ah, so they will eventually cover this point. Thanks for all the hints. I am glad they are going to have a second season in April. I hope the second season will be 24 episodes instead of just 12. I guess what the anime staff did for this episode was appropriate afterall, with what they added.

Was really expecting some things to be prolonged, since the manga part of this was too short to actually make it into a full episode, so it had to be prolonged. Some things were a little Anime filler, but its kinda cute in a way. I'm also a sucker for anime songs (I post so many animes songs in "Songs that get stuck in my head " But Keima does have some different reactions then how he was from the manga. He blushes a little more to Kanon then any other girls, so this could be a little difference between the two. But that's always good to see some difference between the characters so we can explore more visuals of the characters in a different perspective then what we see in the manga. Now were on to the last heroine (Which I suppose, since she was the last one to appear in the Opening in the row of heroines we saw)

She's schizophrenic!! This really was a great arc though. I think this is the most enjoyable idol story, ever. And they had a lot of attention to detail too. They even had her on a big screen.

I think another song would have been nice instead of the crescent one forever and ever.

Well this arcs ends a new one appears, they sure took a time with this arc, i didn't liked this arc in the manga but the anime have managed to do it well and i liked it more than the original, the only thing that i really dislked were the song and its because i don't like J-pop.

I like having long songs actually get to see how the song is, was sad that the opening song wasn't longer wasn't all happy happy happy like Kanons stuff usually is but was really good especially since it was fitting for the episode.

Holy shit...I can't believe they actually did it. They spent an entire episode on Kannon. She sure got the royal treatment because it seems like the staff went all out on the concert. I felt it was definitely better and more fleshed out than in the manga. Episode is totally an extra fanservice to all Kannon fans, so it's going to suck for people who dislike Kannon. The staff sure love their Kannon-chan

The scene where Keima tells Kanon that she shouldn't need other people's approval to be happy and she can do things herself felt kind of off to me. Kanon is extremely unsure of herself and hungry for approval from Keima but he pushes her away and says she doesn't need approval from others. So.... I get that sentiment but then what snapped her out of it was all the people chanting her name? Seems kind of contradictory.

And it was a very subtle reference in the manga. That's the kind of reference you really need motion to truly convey...

As expected, an episode to sell more CDs XD (Although I do admit the first song Kanon sing in concert is pretty nice...). But you can't sell CD when you keep repeating Happy Crescent (I guess the producer runs out of song XD).
Now onto Shiori and of course, Hanazawa... |

I think the fact that it was so drawn out emphasizes how little actual story there was here. There's like one scene where she's freaking out over the mirror (is that the spirit's work?) and then Keima has his nice conversation with her. Everything else in this episode could've been easily cut out and didn't add anything to the story. I guess they're just trying to sell CDs.

Almost thought they'd introduce some new chars early and try to incorporate chapters, but no, they didn't.
Still, pretty good episode Wish they had the first song though, the "I, my, me" song, since that would've probably been more appropriate (maybe before Keima said she was a star, though. lol) |
