Ouch. Too late for me, I'm already on 10.7. Guess I have to wait until this issue are fixed - which I'm afraid that won't be coming any soon considering "So, without going to SDL 1.3, there might not be an easy solution to this."

But perhaps a month later (now) there are good news?

It'll be done when it's done. Their translator is really busy right now. They have said that they will absolutely not drop it though, if worst comes to worst they could always find a backup translator to finish it.

Afraid we'll have to go with "none of the above", here.

We used to have more translators, but it seems like chronotrig is pretty much doing it all now, and he's really bogged down with RL business. Project's not dropped, but you'll have to be patient.

It would be quite nice to be able to read it before October ends, at the very least. Not that I am trying to rush it or anything, it gets done when it gets done and I am grateful that it is coming out eventually. You guys did a great service to us for all these years. I only say this since October 2009 was when I first got into the series and fell in love with it, October 2010 was when I read Episode 7 and got really into it again after a few months of letting it out of my mind finally. October 2011 as the finale would be so cool. lol. Plus, well... October is when the Rokkenjima Incident happens so... yeah.

Absence? More like presence.

Cause. It's. Always. There. Yet. You. Can't. Reach. It.

Really hope it isn't next year/after C81.
You know, cause an actual Umineko epilogue is gonna come out on C81. : O

Btw, what's the deal on the EP8 downloadable version? And the site too, it gives me this:

Your question/comment has been sent.
Also, the (witch-hunt.com) site is sometimes down. I know, cause I refresh it for news.
(Cause constantly following animanga forums for Umineko news is just gonna taint my EP8 virginity.)

Don't spread rumors if you're not sure of their reliability. Or at least specify they are rumors.

IIRC, it's not a rumor, Ryuukishi posted something somewhere. Maybe his blog or something.

I'd look for the source of where I got that.

If I wasn't still avoiding Umineko stuff. You know, since last year. : /

I'm pretty sure the most he has said is that he will probably make a Rei-style release for Umineko in the future. I don't think he has actually announced anything or explained exactly what it will be like yet.

My my, just finished ep 6 and I guess this will follow the pattern more or less of higurashi, that 5-6 give smatterings of answers here and there but then 7 really spells it out, and 8 is the resolution. I think my end time on this ep was 25 hours XD I can only imagine where this will go next.. As always, thanks so much Witch Hunt for being so dedicated to this project, and keep up the good work!

I have heard that the sequel turned expansion pack of Ougon Muso Kyoku will be released at c81 but that's all i can remember being said in regard to c81 and Umineko no naku koro ni, maybe you have mixed the two up?

His schedule would be pretty hectic if he's working on ougon+, higabana, umi-rei. Im pretty sure we wont get Umineko Rei in some time, since EP8 was meant to be more of an epilogue than anything else.

I found another possible typo:

Code:
; 何しろ男尊女卑の右代宮家でございます。@
; 妻は跡継ぎを残すための道具。@
`Anyways, this was the male dominant Ushiromiya family.`@
`A wife was just a tool to create a heir.`@
I believe it should be 'an heir' since the word 'heir' starts with a consonant.

Yes, in that case its an but its because it starts with an h. An is used only when followed by vowels or an unaspirated H sound.

Actually, a consonant sound means you should use "a". However, because heir starts with a vowel sound, it still should be "an". And because people REALLY love arguing with me that it's based on letter and not sound, http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/591/1/.

Regarding this, isn't it generally considered incorrect to use "Anyways?" I thought that it was redundant and should be made "Anyway."

I don't really think it matters and I'm sure either works, but just asking to any of you more grammar savvy folks around here.

Yup, you're right. It's incorrect because anyway is plural to begin with, but it is used colloquially from time to time (even though it annoys the heck out of me).

Whoops! I did know that, but I accidentally typed consonant instead of vowel for some reason. 'H' as a letter is a consonant, but in the word 'heir', it makes a vowel sound.

Grammatically speaking, it should be 'anyway'. However, 'anyways' is sometimes used casually. I'm not sure if the original Japanese is in a casual tone. If it is, then 'anyways' should be acceptable.
