I like how Alto totally neglected Ranka in this episode. Michael calling him an idiot was probably the writer's way of emphasizing that. Just after 2 Sheryl-filled episodes, Alto's all 'Sherified' already. He even lied to Ranka, that jerk haha Poor thing. But I like how things are going so far.

I also loved the last five minutes (cuz of Diamond Crevasse) and that last bit where Ranka saw the SMS head off after 'marathoning' to get to the concert hall. She never even had a proper goodbye to them. Next episode is giving me bad vibes. They better not kill off Ozma next episode or the episode after that. x_x

So I heard this show is going to be 25 episode long? Is that true?

I don't think they'll kill anyone off this soon. Maybe one of the minor characters, but I doubt we'll be seeing any Skulls die. Then again, this is Macross, and it wouldn't be the same without some drama.

It was kinda good, and bad seeing what shape the Galaxy fleet was in though.

Was a nice episode though, but the week wait between episodes is killing me now. I was checking that place for RAWs all day and jumped on them as soon as they were released. Now I have to wait another week for more

Oh, and about the next episode:

I thought this was M-Galaxy for some reason first time I watched through it because of the clamshell design, but after pausing the screenshot, it doesn't look so much like a colonisation ship any more.



Maybe it's like a Vajra hive? It does a mighty large beam, I'll say that at least.

Okay, I'm pretty definite it's a Vajra capital ship/hive or something, this was earlier in the preview.

SMS Macross Quarter's captain is a perv.

After captains like Global and Maximillian Jenius we get this guy who sexually harasses bridge bunnies. At least the gay dude is safe.

I'm assuming what we saw was Macross Galaxy's main battleship. If they were smart they would shell down and fold the heck out of there.

Assuming that they're able to, that is. The Vajra could have come in and taken out their Fold engine before they could do much about it. That would be the basic battle tactic to take out Fold-capable ships.

Garlock man? I thought he looked more like a cross between Focker and Global, with the Harlock-like scar across the face. Well... I guess they had to get SOMEONE on the show who flirted like Focker did, seeing how Ozma wasn't capable of doing so and Mikhail has absolutely no luck with the ladies so far. At least, Klein seems to give him dirty looks more often than not.

It's scheduled for at least two cours, yes. I suspect if it does well it'll end up being even longer - which may or may not end up being a good thing.

Jesus Christ are you out of your damn mind. It's likely BVUSA won't even be in business next year. If Harmony Gold doesn't try to bring it over, I imagine Bandai Entertainment or Funimation will do so. Especially if the quality keeps up over the entire run - unlike the sillier aspects of Mac7, this thing would be a surefire hit with older Robotech/Mac fans. There'll be a ton of pressure for it to come over but I want a competent company to do so.

I'm going to be gobsmacked if this show ends up like Mac7 though. Mac7 had legitimate problems (very heavy constant use of music that had to be licensed, lots of use of stock animation leading to a good number of dull undynamic fights, a protracted story with lots of filler, a VERY different visual feel from SDF Macross, etc) that made for a pretty competent argument against bringing the series over. MacF, however, is obviously trying to match the original's spirit and is one of the most gorgeous, imaginative, and playful shows in years, even when it uses budget animation. It would be insanity to pass this show over.

Yes, but it will never get past the US of A without a major lawsuit filed against Harmony Gold. Unless HG knows itself to be on the LOSING SIDE and decided to give up, or otherwise end up in a slow, and agonizing death. Although the keyword here is 'slow', meaning new Macross franchises probably won't see the light of day on this side of the shore in the near future.

Interestingly Macross Galaxy's escort fleet are Meltrandi warships. (Girls woohoo!)

Not that good old Zentradi warships had not been used before. Such as Megaroad 1 and Macross 5.

So that's what Sheryll meant Zentradi are on other ships.

Guess Chlore's fleet went on the escort biz. 14 years earlier they were cultured (turned to fangirls) by Nekki Basara.

For further discussion, I don't think that the current ship SMS has is a full-size SDF. It doesn't seem big enough and wasn't docked up front. They still own their own warship which is nuts, but they don't have a Macross Cannon.

Another great episode of Frontier even though the animation dipped (looks like some of it was outsourced to the a company in Manila/Philippines) it still provided character and plot development as well as setting up things for next week.

The bond between Sheryl and Alto gets increased this week.. god those two are so tsundere to each other at times.. but it was great to see how earring scene went from Alto to Sheryl... he really looked contented in those scenes. Also with Kathy along for the ride we will get more interaction between her and Ozma. The entire Diamond Crevesse thing was done very nicely though I'm hoping they redraw a few of the scenes for the dvd release.

Was surprised to see Jeffrey Wilder grab Monica's ass.. even more surprised to see that she actually liked it lol. The Ozma scene at the start was classic, like someone said it was like he was giving her away for marriage.

Next episode looks awesome.. I'm guessing Sheryl will realize Ranka is in the seat she gave to Alto.. also should hear her sing that song which was being played before the OP this episode when she was practicing her dance moves. And the action should be awesome.. König Monster fuck yes!

... isn't this the exact ship SMS is using currently? It may have been converted into a fighter carrier from a gunship but the twin-pylon bow is exactly the same.

You do realize that the original Macross was a Supervision army gunship right?

Besides it's called SMS Macross Quarter, so it's just a fraction.

Btw some questions about the dialogue since I know zero japanese... what did the reporter say that made Sheryl grab the mic and what did Sheryl say (please help galaxy?) after that. Also what did Leon say that shocked Kathy so much? (you will go with SMS?)

Well she did go on a date. Some of the public recognized her.

From the gist I can gather she wants Frontier to help Galaxy and she also wants a home to go back to.

Though I can see the spirit of Lynn Minmei and Nekki Basara with the show must go on.

Sheryl still believes that Galaxy has survived and thanks the Frontier for sending help. The first reporter says that the message from Galaxy arrived days later because of Fold Dislocation. Another reporters mentions that sending help might draw the Vajra but Sheryl replies that is it okay to leave them to die? and besides Frontier has already been attacked by the Vajra. And finally Sheryl got angry at the last reporter because he mentioned about canceling the concert and concerning the fans... but he can't finish the question before Sheryl grabs the mic and asks who's to decide that, that she'll do the concert anyways and return to Galaxy.

The only thing Leon says is that he has a request for Cathy, we don't hear the whole stuff, but it's most likely something to do with her boarding the SMS Macross Quarter.
